Nobody I've seen yet takled about this fanasty matchup yet. Who would of won this fight if both came in at their very best. I'm anxious to see the opinions on this fight. I actually think it would a exciting fight if this fight ever took place.

It's fun to discuss badintentions. I'm just curious to see if any of the Calzaghe experts on this board give him a chance in this matchup, that's all.

Hagler never fought above 160, Regardless prime Hagler really wouldn't have problems against slappy.

Well he'd have to be the one to come up, cause Joe ain't coming down to 160 and hagler definetly was big enough to make that weight. There was even talks about him moving up to fight Micheal Spinks back than at lightheavyweight. So let's assume both are in their prime, they would have to meet at a reasonable catchweight, which wouldn't be too much of a leap since their near the same size.

Let's not forget leonard beat Hagler with quick flurries and we all know Calzaghe is good flurrying at his best, plus his work rate is better than anybody Hagler fought.

Impossible to say. Joe just hasn't been in with the type of qualit that allows us to judge how he would do aginst such adversity. Hagler should be favoured though.

Hopkins(even though past his prime) is the close thing but haglers style ain't like hopkins, so he's gonna come right at you, just like Joe usually likes it.

calzaghe would of taken hagler to a place he has never known before and completly dismantle his body and destory his sole , evrey punch (slap) joe throws will inflict furious venom forcing hagler to admit he is way out of his depth with calzaghe exposing hagler as a fighter a shadow of himself and then in the post fight confrence hagler will say something like "fighting joe is way tougher than any other opponent"

Prime for Prime No contest Calzaghe Wide Ud

Hagler had a lot of trouble with Leonards quick flurries, that's what leads me to believe he would have even more trouble with Calzaghe since Calzaghe is a bigger man than Leonard is and has a higher workrate like engine.

Let's not forget Calzaghe is no Leonard skillwise.. Even the Hagler/Leonard fight was a controversial decision..

Hagler would not cover up and let Calzaghe go all slappy on him..

He's a bigger man than leonard though. And even in Leonards prime, he doesn't have the workrate Calzaghe has. Hagler has trouble with slick boxers.
