I think Griffin at his best has the capability to give Calzaghe a lot of problems. He knew how to strike a good balance between attack and defence, and knew how to make his opponent second-guess themselves. I could see Griffin leading for a few rounds, but he often only managed to put it together in spurts and had a tendency of falling just short when it mattered most. The opposite to Calzaghe, you'd have to say - regardless of what you think of Joe's opposition (which I'll moan about again on another thread soon, I'm sure!). Griffin seems in control and makes Calzaghe struggle, but eventually he makes a couple too many mistakes and Calzaghe's confidence, pressure and work eventually creates an opportunity. Calzaghe warms into the fight and after looking like he's turning the tide for a couple of rounds, he stops Griffin late in my opinion.
Exactly how I see it. Montell's technical ability keeps him in it but Calzaghe simply overwhelmed guys with his hand speed and relentless punching.
I went with Calzaghe on points which I feel is the most probably outcome. You can’t completely count out griffin though. He did after all beat James Toney twice and was leading against Roy Jones before Roy was DQ’d
