Look at this cretin trying to smear Calzaghe as some coke freak boxer when in reality he was as clean as a whistle. He seemingly went on a two year bender after he retired which was cringey & embarrassing imo, but he presumably wanted to let his hair down after training most of his life.

Are we really pretending its safe to assume fighters are clean because never tested positive? Under that logic, 99% of fighters are clean. Who really believes that?

I just watched the Ben Johnson ESPN 30/30 documentary again the other day. The part where the drug testing czar said he went back and tested the 1984 Olympic samples when they had more advanced testing in 1988 and he had to stop because so much stuff was showing up in the samples they couldn’t detect in 1984 was pretty eye opening. The athletes are usually one step ahead of the testers and boxing is no different.

I don't consider peds when pondering fantasy matchups, along with things like gauging a fighter's mental status, training habbits/odds of showing up in shape, which trainer he has with him, etc etc. It would take all of the fun out of it.

I usually imagine the best version of each fighter swinging away. It would drive me nutz if I had to think, "ok, Toney will probably come in a little fat" or "if the ref takes points from Ward" or whatever lol.

Jones & Toney via UD, slightly possible late TKO. 50/50 vs Ward.

Vs. Toney, hard to say. At their absolute best, I'd go with Toney, but It was hard to catch him at his best. On an average night, Calzaghe wins.

I'd favor them all to beat Joe Calzaghe

    Joe Calzaghe is very overrated

    Especially by the British public

Calslappy's value went up when he beat an old BHop and shot-to-hell RJJ who had been starched numerous times before
