Hmm..looks like Sept. 20. Well I know I will be somewhere else and not watch this crap. So they claim that KP coming up in weight might be to much vs JC. But Jones best win in years is vs a fighter that did fight for years and at his best was at Welter. Ya ok....not with my money. If ESB or anyone else wants to pay for this crap for me, then I will watch it.

yup I have been saying that 4ever
People are giving RJ no shot at all. And I just dont see the logic. RJ is not his "Old" self but even at this stage of his career he is capable of beating probably 80% of LHW out there. The logic with people I dont understand

Hopkins who is slower in hand speed, less power than RJ gave Calzaghe a good fight, at times made Joe look amateurish and Joe pulled a split decision.
RJ is younger, faster hands than bhop, more power than bhop and a wild old vet that knows the ins and outs of boxing just like B-HOP. And he doesnt have a chance?
People are gonna b surpirsed, RJ is a very underrated body puncher and counter puncher, he is probably a better counter puncher than B_HOP. RJ is gonna test Calzaghes body all night, that will bring down workrate and slow handspeed down.
Calzaghe at 175 dont doesnt have pop so RJ knows he cant hurt him, so even if RJ lays back and covers up throwing those slaps at his gloves isnt gonna do anything. ANd going to RJs body is like a waste of time. So I give RJ a damn good shot of wining. Calzaghe is a sucker for a str8 right hand, and RJ has the speed to land it at will. SO we shall see
    I 4 1 give hima good shot
If Calzaghe wins I will give him his rightful respect
But Im rooting for RJ all the way

the pressure is ALL on Calzo!

he's the champ, he's undefeated, he's fighting the "shot" fighter, everyone expects him to win, etc, etc, etc.

Jones is no fool! he knows if he loses, it was expected and nothing off his legend. He can concentrate on training and give it his best, even at this shot stage. He still showed flashes of speed, and some one punch stinging power. His counters are still there, although his legs are gone. But again, he has nothing to lose, and everything to win.

Styles also make fights, and jones knows this! He is not fighting a tall southpaw with power...he's not fighting a relentless grinding pressure fighter with decent power; he is fighting a guy who uses speed and has no power to hurt him, and he knows this.

This is gonna be an interesting fight, and a LOT closer than most think....I'm rooting for Jones to get the upset, and he certainly can do that!

    The plan?

Now whose plan was that ?

    Booradley's fantasy, perhaps ?

Clearly a fantasy, as evidenced by the Lopez/Sanchez reference.

And to finish off, a nice little piece of very scholarly historica.

Not just an expert boxing commentator, but a scion of history as well !

Your slant on Euro-boxers is pretty evident from your earlier posts.

It must have been a nasty shock to your system when Abramam made much shorter work of Edison than Kelly did.

But your insult at Welshmen in general shows your overall level.

BTW, another point of trivia (unlike your's, factual)

Calzaghe is of Italian descent and was born in England.

Meaningless fight between a shot legend and a fighter who still has lots to prove.

Dissappointing way to end his career for Calzaghe.

anyone else think that if this happens in Vegas then Joe will have atleast one more fight, a 'last chance' sell out fight at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff.

Really? can you name a bigger money fight for calzaghe?
I mean everyone wants calzaghe vs pavlik but thats not as big a money spinner. PPV wise I am certain Jones is a bigger sell than Pavlik, Taylor, Johnson, Tarver etc.
