No he didn't, JT laid out the blueprint. Besides, if Hopkins had schooled Kov, you'd be making out Joe's win to be even better than it was...
Did you not watch the 12th then? Bet you didn't watch the fight. Joe calzaghe couldn't stop a completely shot Roy jones, featherfisted to say the least. As for kovalev being stopped, it wouldn't come at a big suprise, if Stevenson got boon'd and beterbiev ran into one. Who nex?
Kovalev was put over in his fight before Hopkins, so no reason to think Calzaghe couldnt put Kovalev down either atsch. Its a ridiculous comment as all fights are different. Hopkins got put down twice by Pascal when they first fought, but not at all in the rematch. Fact is Calzaghe was never on wobbly legs, never having to hold to survive and was up and attacking. The Hopkins KD, just caught Calzaghe when he was standing square on and didnt nearly KO him or have him in trouble and the Jones KD was a forearm
Calzaghe had badly damaged hands, which shows how good he is, in that even when past prime with bad hands, could win. Kovalev, I think would struggle to do much
Read what I wrote - LHW blueprint. Still the Taylor fight was not similar. Hopkins was the stronger fighter down the stretch against Taylor, where as Calzaghe had him looking for time out and took away the tme in fights that Hopkins seems to like
Point is, it was scored as a knockdown like when calzaghe got hit with a forearm, it was still scored
Sergey KRUSHER Kovalev would break up joes body, he'd bully him, joes eagerness to land once he's hurt we see him getting knocked out.
You act like Calzaghe shut out Bernard Hopkins. He squeaked a very close split decision whereas Kovalev shut him out 120 - 107.
You act like it was the same Hopkins atsch and are forgetting it was Calzaghes first fight at the new weight, had just come up and was at the end of his career
Tbh joe ain't suited to beat up a prime well schooled big lhw with enough pop to stop ya with body jabs. He's a 168lber, his slaps had little affect on the worn out Roy jones, I guess when joe does it, it's schooling to prove a point of superior skills. But when sergey kovalev schools hopkins, it's because he ain't powerful enough. Nice arguement zag fans.
He may well be, but Calzaghe is a completely different animal to anyone Kovalev has fought also. I can only envisage a Calzaghe schooling, but I do rate Kovalev, but just couldnt see him landing enough on a motivated Calzaghe
Hopkins is an OAP who lost to the last credible opponent he faced in Chad Dawson. In fact Dawson made him quit in a few rounds the first time he faced him, something Sergey was unable to do :think Carried Hopkins Sergey having no faith in his chin is the only reason he didn't go for the KO. Hell, even featerfisted Blake Caparello put Kov on his ass
