Why can't matchups between legends of the past and good present/recent fighters ever be taken seriously? Why this assumption that a legend of the past is invincible? SRR did his best work at lower weights and Calzaghe has an iron chin, all his knockdowns were flash off - balance knockdowns. So Robinson isn't going to knock him out. Calzaghe would be a difficult opponent, Robinson probably would not have faster hands while beings smaller and nobody would ever outwork Calzaghe via punch output. That leaves Robinson's great skills as his advantage. May or may not be enough to beat Calzaghe, but it would be a great fight.
As Calzaghe never had a pro fight below 168, I guess SRR would have to move up?...or are we talking a catchweight fight here? would make some difference either way. I do believe SRR lost to a few middleweights who were not as good as Calzaghe. He certainly wasnt invincible and im afraid to say he really cant walk on water you know. That said I think SRRs arsenal and skillset would be too much for Calzaghe. It would be a great fight I reckon and certainly not a forgone conclusion.
Cokey Joe fought two old men, both of whom put him down and lost to one of them in the eyes of many. The other would have killed him in his prime, literally.
The current version of Calzaghe easily ko's the current version of SRR, cmon how dumb to you gotta be. :smoke
these ****s dont post these on the Brit forum, Joe isnt mentioned there, go check. they do it to wind us up here. its a silent campagin ignore these mother****ers.
If they were the same size, Robinson would win. As it stands, Calzaghe was a 190lb man to Robinson's 160lb, so Calzaghe would likely own him. Nonetheless, I voted for Robinson because he's just better.
