Although 168 and 175 were not Hearns’ best weights I would still favor him to beat Joe Calzaghe. Not sure what the exact outcome would be. Joe’s speed and workrate would keep him in the game and make it competitive but at the end of the day Hearns was just a better fighter
This is what I think, and it matters how Tommy fights. Tommy is one of my favorite fighters but his flaw was not as much physical as mental. Sometimes he would brawl for the sake of landing his punches and left himself open and would get tired. Why set that up? He fought so much better when he jabbed and was patient waiting for openings and picking his shots like against Benitez and Hill. Sometimes the better defensive guys made him look better, than he sat back and picked his shots and fought more calm and at a slower pace. If he fought that slower pace he does better with Calzaghe.
