Top 5 wins isn't even a good barometer anyway, as many fighters only peaked and showed their true ability on a couple of nights. Shane Mosley doesn't have a strong top 5 wins, especially considering he didn't come close to deserving the decision in the second De La Hoya fight.

You don't assess a hypothetical h2h by evaluating either mans' top 5 wins you dud. It's a consideration of how they would match up in the ring.

Does Calzaghe have a better top 5 wins than Jirov? Unquestionably. Calzaghe has a weak top 5, but it's still much better than Jirov's.

However, that doesn't mean career smw and fleeting lhw Joe Calzaghe would beat career cruiserweight and occasional heavyweight Vassiliy Jirov. Not at all.

Calzaghe could NEVER achieve what Roy Jones and James Toney did at higher weights because in order to do that, you need to carry a punch that demands respect from bigger, stronger, tougher fighters.
