Joe Calzaghe will not destroy Kelly Pavlik should they fight.

Many people have an image whereby Pavlik comes forwards and just batters him. Ridiculous. Pavlik works behind a solid jab so is defended, and has more than enough strength in his right to stop Calzaghe moving inside at will.

Nor will Calzaghe school Pavlik, he just got clocked by an old Hopkins, prime Calzaghe wiped the floor with Pavlik to an extent, but the current Calzaghe is weaker, slower both of hand and in terms of reflexes. It is a very competetive fight should the Calzaghe of the Kessler fight show up. Any less from Calzaghe and he will lose to an on form Pavlik, maybe even be destroyed.

Pavlik is in his prime and an absolute beast of a man. Effortless heavyhanded ness, not explosive punches but heavy shots more similar to being hit by a car. Pavlik has underrated speed and is a textbook fighter in terms of technique, better than the likes of JMM in all honesty.

Not way does a man as old as Joe Calzaghe beat this future Hall of Famer, if he somehow does I'll take back my words and admit that this past prime Calzaghe probably is the P4P number one (I currently have him behind the like of Guzman and other competitors like Cotto for the topspot.)

You can't just slap Pavlik into submission, he isn't Bernard Hopkins.

:huh My hat's off to you sir, I think.

I certainly feel that this will be a very hard fought victory for whoever wins. Those who count out either fighter are off their rocker.

I'm so confused. I thought this guy was the biggest Calzaghe nuthugger on this board.

He's also the best subliminal mind ****er on the board too, so I'm still trying to sort the subtleties. I'm pretty sure with my first post, I've fallen into his trap, just don't know what it is yet.:think

I agree completely. Calzaghe isn't much better than Gary Lockett at this point. If a senior citizen dropped him in his last fight, a first round Pavlik blowout would be very likely.

If an old Hopkins can land right hands, then so can the equally quick and accurate right of Pavlik, only with much more devastating results.

To be honest, it will be horrible watching a true legend like Calzaghe getting tagged, to the point of being stopped once he's utterly destroyed. I think this may be a sad fight to watch, it will make him seem more human and America will probably warm to him after his first loss.

Calzaghe perhaps needs to retire now, this fight might turn out horrible for him.

if calzaghe continues to slip, it becomes a very close fight. if calzaghe from the kessler fight shows up, i think he wins a 9-3 type decision.

    Not comparable.

Hopkins right hand is a completely different punch to Pavlik's.
