Joe Calzaghe will not destroy Kelly Pavlik should they fight.

You can't tell me you actually believe this??? What about his performance vs Salem? Getting knocked down, fighting ugly and losing rounds? How about vs a 43 year old BHop? How about all the times he got tagged vs Kessler? He is not invincible, not even close. He should win, but he is on the decline. Pavlik is a young, strong, prime champion, who is proving himself. He is going to give Joe a rough fight, certainly much harder than Lacy.

Yes, Calzaghe blows hot and cold. Bernard provided him with a bad style for him and it generally wasn't a good performance, though Calzaghe was physically in proper form.

Kessler landed flush shots because his timing and delivery speed are excellent, much better than Pavlik's, Pavlik's not a counter puncher by any stretch, different fights.

The guy vs. Lacy, Kessler, Salem, Bika and Hopkins are not all the same Calzaghe. He'd be in proper form, as well as he can be, for Pavlik and Pavlik has an easy style for him.

It'd be an easy fight, Pavlik's D is too leaky and he's generally slower than the guys Joe has been facing lately.

I think at times he shows more one punch power... But my question to you is, why can't he knock out lessor fighters then, when he is landing frequently? Guys like Taylor who don't have great chins? If his power is THAT inconsistent, i really have trouble giving him credit for it.

Agree to disagree with you on this one. I am looking forward to the fight, i think it will be a good one. I understand the speed/skill difference, however i believe Pavliks timing, strength and workrate will give Joe trouble. Just like the strength of guys like Salem and Bika gave him trouble, even though they are more unorthadox in their approach.

Look, Abraham has let KO's get away from him because of his low workrate style, Pavlik is more effective, he goes right for the kill and beats the **** out of these guys to grind them out, similiar to what Cotto does, relentless in work.

Abraham stays at range, defence first, then seeks to pop them with big bombs when he finds openings, he'd have a lot more KO's if he was a guy who went for them more often.

He may be inconsistent, but his natural 1 punch KO power, the topic of the debate that we're having, has evidently shown to be real 1 punch KO power, where as Pavlik shows the brutal, accumulation heavy handed power that is similiar to that of Miguel Cotto and a few others.

Different types of power, but 1 punch power is very rare, few have it, Abraham does, even if he's ineffective at times due to stylistic or skill problems.

    Cool?

Why, because he had nice things to say about blue collar Pavlik? I thought us musicians want to get past the blue collar garage phase, into the professional phase.

2008, 'taking it out of the garage tour'.

Or we could be like the lounge rat that said that any hair cut that you can't do yourself is useless, having the cultured sense of a mountain hermit. That's Pavlik, so we need to get it past 'that whad youz want' and into correct speaking with professional work.

Do you get me Pipe Wrenched? Jermain Taylor is the devil!

Although it is very out of character for him, he does hit the nail on the head regarding young Pavlik.:yep

Jermain Taylor will see Amsterdam die a horrible death before submitting into Taylor fandom. But Pavlik can win me over if he gets destroyed by Calzaghe and the ohio boys go back to paving driveways as compared to trying to talk boxing with real men.

You missed the line about 'Pavlik being better than JMM'. CHJ's going to try to run with that so when Calzaghe beats him with ease, he can claim that Pac is lesser than Calzaghe as he didn't beat JMM clearly, it's CHJ mind trickery and you all fell for it because he's a crafty guy with an IQ that exceeds the scale.

You missed the fun last year, he even made elaborate graphs to show why Calzaghe is better than Mayweather.
