Seems like you take the "retirement" word to heart.

I don't expecially with athletes that have done one and one thing only their entire life and that is - Their Sport.

They don't know how to live without it, and its pretty simple to me...If a win over Roy Jones doesn't satisfy Joe Calzaghe he won't retire till he wins and it IS satisfying.

You can call out a fighter that you know has not time/interest in you at the moment. No reason for Kelly to fight Kessler till he is ready to make the permanent move to 168.

Your assesment is pretty close to mine. The only problem I have is Calz. will be fighting Jones @ LHW and then most likely would need take on Pav. @ SMW. It would have made more sense for Calz. to fight @ SMW first then @ LHW. Maybe Pav. will be @ LHW too? I do think because Calz. and Jones are fighting in Sept. in the USA, he's leaving the door open for 1 more fight in his hometown in early 09'.

Calzaghe/Bika II or Calzaghe/Manfredo II. Those are fights everybody is clamoring for. I am sure both of those guys would beat Pavlik handily too, right? Joe already beat Lacy and Kessler. What SMW brings more to the table than Pavlik moving up to fight him?
