Na. Calzaghe was getting outclassed by Hopkins for the first 6 rounds, Calzaghe needed an epic, signature win to beat him and outwork him the 2nd half. Spinks would humble Calzaghe for 12 rounds.

To be fair, Calzaghe was at the end of his career. In his prime, he was fighting at 168 but with day before weigh-ins, so he'd be at 175 most likely under the old rules. Calzaghe was pretty old himself by 2008.

Spinks still wins though, because he's Michael Spinks and it's 175 lbs.

No doubt Calzaghe was a great 168lber, no doubt about it, had he beaten a prime Dawson, who was a better light heavyweight than Hopkins was, Calzaghe might have an argument. But yea, Spinks was crafty, bigger, stronger version of Bhops and I dont see Calzaghe doing well vs the Spinx Jinx.

Michael spinks might be the most overrated boxer on this board

    Let's use logic and mathematics:

    Tyson beat Spinks
    Holyfield beat Tyson
    Toney beat Holyfield
    Jones beat Toney
    Calzaghe beat Jones

    and therefore...

    Calzaghe beats Spinks!

    I rest my case.

Ward is greater than Calzaghe already.

Nobody even talks about him on the general forum.

    That's an interesting matchup.

    How would a Ward/Toney/Calzaghe round-robin go?

Based on what reasoning? He's a legitimate ATG at 175 and beat ATG HW Larry Holmes at least once.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Calzaghe would also school prime Joe Louis :nod

Thanks for the laughs. Actually, Bernard Hopkins is far more overrated here, especially at 175.

Lol, good point. He's almost never spoken about here rightfully so because, quite frankly, belongs on the Classic. As far as your round robin is concerned, I personally I see Calzaghe winning 2 decisions. I don't think Ward or Toney could effectively deal with his workrate.

That was after Joe ruined him, and before you picked him to destroy Calzaghe a decade ago and what you've had nightmares about since.:lol::lol::lol::lol:
