Not trolling either - Attempting discussion:

Does Spinks ranking as the 3rd greatest LHW of all time after Charles and Moore have any bearing on your boxrec analysis?

Does the fact that Byron Mitchell, faded Roy Jones and an advanced Hopkins dropping Calzaghe not at least suggest a man who had one of the most storied and feared right hands in the LHW divisions history - Also only ever loosing to Mike Tyson and ARGUABLY Larry Holmes not at least open the possibility that Calzaghe is possibly going to cop a shellacking?

Given Joe only fought two LHW's - Both former Middleweight champions - go some way to making your comparison on their respective opponents durability a bit null and void?

well, going by your reasoning, does that mean terry marsh is a better fighter than, say, roberto duran, seeing as he was world champ and never lost a fight ?

Max Kellerman always talks about the type of boxing fan from previous generations who always think that the fighters from their era are the best of all-time.

I remember him once saying on ESPN, "When I was growing up, older fans were convinced that Joe Louis would have defeated Ali. I am never going to be that kind of boxing fan."

He talked about an Ali vs Lennox match-up. All he kept repeating was that Lewis had a 40 lb weight advantage over him.

His "belief" that Calzaghe would defeat Spinks is a part of that same mindset.

If they had been the same age, they would have ducked each other, since they both spent their careers ducking people.

Ezzard Charles is the best in that weight class.

Great post. America has to learn to accept that Calzaghe beat Hopkins and Jones :smoke
Another great quote from Robert the knob, who knows zero about Calzaghes career and cant even debate on the subject.

So you tell me, You claimed Hagler was shot when losing to Leonard, and Taylor beat Hopkins twice, so if thats the case at that time yes, there is a good chance that Taylor could have beaten Hagler, but not a prime version. Personally I dont think Hagler was shot when losing to Leonard, it was a close fight. But admit I was wrong to say that. But theres the key. I can admit. You on the other hand cant admit to Calzaghes greatness and get schooled on the subject everytime. It must be hard for you to have to come onto fantasy matches to say Calzaghe gets beat, because you know the reality, that he never was .
I have seen Spinks many times and he was a very good fighter, but what great LHWs did he beat that hadnt been beaten before? You are watching that silly Youtube show of Spinks beating a journeyman and getting excited :patsch. Read below, someone knows better than you
    :dealExactly.

Calzaghe would outbox and clearly beat Spinks.
Spinks would have just been another American name on Calzaghes win column, to go with Jones, Hopkins, Brewer, Lacy, Mitchell, Manfredo, Sheika etc.

America have to get over the fact that Calzaghe beat there best SWMs of his era AND there best LHWs :smoke

your all thick as dogs!!! :verysad

if you take a few minutes to stop being yanks and think about it properly, you would know calzaghe would be far far far too active for spinks. styles make fights and michael spinks had nothing calzaghe hasnt already seen!!

Just think about it rather than hearing 2 names and saying the most popular would beat the other.
