Yes Calzaghe never had any power at all. I would pick Moorer to beat him. Moorer did have some good boxing skills.

See this is the problem with joe, is he hid under frank warren's ass for almost all of his carear, and we really have no idea how good he really was.....I'm a firm believer that if Joe tested himself as soon as he won a world title somebody hangs a L on him....calzaghe is a hall of famer, but ATG, is laughable........jones is the greatest SMW of all-time not calzaghe....

but to answer the question i think moorer would give joe hell, but calzaghe would squeak by, and thats the thing he would squeak by against just an above average fighter really.....

People like to downgrade Calzaghe becase his style isn't pleasing. 1)Calzaghe never lost a fight 2) Moore would have meet a prime Calzaghe, this is before he slapped more and was even faster, Back then Calzaghe was knocking out people. 3)Calzaghe has always had a good inside game and Holley took him appart up close.

Leslie Stewart (a past prime version) gave Moorer all kinds of troubles before getting taken out in the 8th. He really exposed some of Moorer's limitations at the weight. That said, I'm not sure how much confidence I have in Calzaghe's tools at LHW.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Come on, just because you weren't watching those fights when they happened is no excuse for not picking them up by now to see if that was ever true.

Here is Joe's list:

Peter Manfredo Jr - TKO - 3 (ref favor - Manfredo unhurt)
Mario Veit - TKO - 6
Mger Mkrtchyan - TKO - 7
Byron Mitchell - TKO -2 (ref premature stoppage)
Tocker Pudwill - TKO -2
Will McIntyre - TKO - 4
Mario Veit - TKO - 1 (Veit was down twice but the stoppage was BS)
Richie Woodhall - TKO - 10 (ridiculous ref stoppage though Woodhall may have wanted to quit)
Omar Sheika - TKO - 5 (bull**** ref stoppage though OS was definitely cut)
Juan Carlos Gimenez Ferreyra - TKO - 10 (corner quit)
Branko Sobot - TKO - 3 (outclassed but Sobot's stoppage was only a bit better than Manfredo's in that he had been knocked down - but he wasn't much hurt - he just couldn't find space to throw back as he wasn't much good)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Luciano Torres - TKO - 3
Tyler Hughes - KO - 1
Carlos Christie - TKO - 2 (KO'd by Delaney, Catley & Starie b4 Joe)
Pat Lawlor - TKO - 2 (bull**** ref stoppage though Lawlor was fat & horrible at that point)
Warren Stowe - TKO - 2 (fat overweight bum who just quit after the 2nd round)
Mark Delaney - TKO - 5
Anthony Brooks - TKO - 2
Guy Stanford - TKO - 1 (had lost 11 of 13 before fighting Joe then lost his next 9 of 10 - ref let Joe hold and punch and then stopped it early - probably not a bad thing except Stanford wasn't expecting to quit in only 1 and was surprised by the stoppage)
Stephen Wilson - TKO - 8
Nick Manners - TKO - 4 (ridiculous ref stoppage - Manners not even hurt)
Tyrone Jackson - TKO - 4
Robert Curry - TKO - 1 (fat bum who had already lost 33 fights)
Frank Minton - KO - 1 (was completely shot - 6-16 in his 22 fights prior to this (six wins were against total bums) & 2-10 after this fight)
Trevor Ambrose - TKO - 2
Mark Lee Dawson - TKO - 1
Karl Barwise - TKO - 1
Darren Littlewood - TKO - 1
Martin Rosamond - TKO - 1
Spencer Alton - TKO - 2
Paul Mason - TKO - 1 (slips twice, then gets knocked down legitimately and the ref abruptly stops the fight while Mason is still fine)
Paul Hanlon - TKO - 1 (out of shape novice falls around ring, turns his back and Joe drills him twice in the back of the head for the first knockdown (lol), second is legit and the ref calls the fight over)

I guess I could have added comments on more but WHY?

Joe has 3 KOs and 29 TKOs in his career. Almost the entire 32 are either against bums, near bums, or they were tainted by predisposed refs. Check the names and see how familiar you are with this murderer's row of talented boxers.

The obvious point is that Joe has KO'd nobody. He has TKOs over almost nobody. Take away two ref stoppages of Sheika (cuts) and Mitchell (backpocket ref) and he has not stopped ONE SINGLE DECENT FIGHTER IN HIS ENTIRE CAREER.

How many true greats can have that attributed to their career?

Check those names and watch those fights. Watch all of Joe's fights. Joe was good he was hardly a power puncher before any hand injuries - he got 21 TKOs at the start because he was fighting horrible comp consisting of fat guys, bums, old guys, and old fat bums.

I drew ya a line separating his victims at pre- and post-Chris Eubank. Read that list (1998-2008)) and ask yourself WTF are they?

"Joe would destroy Michael Moorer" ... :patsch

No, Calzaghe is "downgraded" for having a relatively weak resume compared to other top fighters, not because of his ugly style.

Michael Spinks had an awkward ugly style, but he isn't downgraded by many. He's recognized by pretty much everyone other than casual fans as an ATG.

Carlos Monzon's style was about as pretty as Sandra Oh at 6 in the morning. No one doubts his greatness despite this.

Moorer at Light heavyweight was a beast who would have had a good chance against any fighter in the history of the Light heavyweight division. Shame he sidestepped Cruiserweight so that he could have become a 3 division champion.

I'm not too sold on his chances against the greats of the divsion.

Although he was a fearsome puncher, he was also relatively untested, with his best win coming against Leslie Stewart (whom Moorer didn't look all too good against for most of the fight).

Calzaghe ranks higher at 168 all-time than Jones since he spent like 12 years longer at the weight and did more work there.

Jones was better IMO and I'd make him the favorite H2H.

Calzaghe - Moorer at HW would be an interesting fight, even at this weight you would have to favour the lighter Calzaghe to completely outclass and edge out Moorer.

At 175 it is a mismatch. Calzaghe.
