Wow I didnt know you were so fixated on me...I'm pretty flattered....It is however a little disturbing. Personally I've never picked apart someone elses posts or threads because I disagree with them on a particular topic....It's pretty pathetic

 

this is glen johnson`s resume from when he lost to bernard hopkins at middleweight and moved up to super middleweight and after the toks owoh fight he moved up again to light heavy.

calzaghe was a champ durung all of this part of glen johnsons career and calzaghe in hindsight is critisized a lot for ducking johnson.


johnson was not a real player at 168 and it is retrospective amnesia that suggests he was.


he was never mentioned or hyped at the time and no one either side of the atlantic demanded a johnson fight at 168.

no denying that calzaghe pulled out twice of fights against johnson at light heavy , but he also took on his 3 hardest opponents on paper in the years after.

Do you believe Calzaghe made the most of his talent/fulflled his potential?

No it isn't. Two postponements (both by Calzaghe's camp) and the fight never being made are legit reasons to question how badly Joe c wanted this fight.

And it was going to be @ 175 as well. A weight he hadn't ever fought at.

 

Also lets not forget Johnson was pretty much signed to fight Calzaghe..............then he lost to Clinton Woods.

 

Have a look at that long,long list of bums in Hopkins title reign and ask yourself the same question.

 

Why not just give him an answer to the question he asked you?

 

That the one on ITV, were they interviewed JC afterwards and he said more or ess that they "Were nothing special and he'd take them apart"?

The answer to my question is a resounding NO. Ottke, Larsen,
Collins, Braehmer, Johnson, Catley, Wright, Taylor, DM, RJJ.

Quite a list of opponents, no? Little bit more talented than McIntyre, Ashira, Salem, Thornberry and co, don't you think?

 

Because I want him to examine old Popkins record with the same intensity he scrutanises Calzaghe record. :hi:

 

The old "answering a question w/ another question" is a pretty weak tactic. But it's obvious you are afraid to answer him.

Besides, you were asked if Joe made the most of his talent/potential. You weren't asked about the resume. :huh

 

Before you go any futher, JC is my Favourite fighter hands down. I'm not a huge fan of Hopkin by any stretch and see their careers as being very similar. The biggest difference to me is that Hopkins chased down all the titles whereas Calzaghe didn't. He could of done so much more with his career and of got the respect of many more people, but he chose not to. I'm not blaming him for "ducking" all the other fighter's, merely pointing out that he could of done a lot more to make them happen.
