Joe Calzaghe's 46-0 vs Floyd Mayweather's 42-0

Hmm well I agree to a point but when I say technically I'm taking all things into account. A lot of people 'technically' seem to think that any slick black boxer is technically better than any other style but I don't.

That said, Floyd is superior to Calzaghe in most areas. He's got better ring awareness, more accurate punching, a better defence, better reflexes etc. The only area Calzaghe wins in is workrate but even that sometimes makes his work sloppy.

Saying Calzaghe is proven to have a better record than Mayweather from a noob account/alt with an avatar of Rob Brydon, it's pretty fair to suggest you might be trolling Steve

No, he shirked the biggest challenges in nearly every weightclass he has ever been in.

IIRC i had Floyd winning by a fair few rounds, Oscar did alright but i felt Floyd's work was quality rather then quantity of hitting anything but the scoring area's.

 

And still has a record 10x better than Calzaghe's.

Biggest problem with a '0' is that the fighter is scared to lose it. Khan admitted his biggest fear was losing, when he lost in such devastating fashion he lost his only fear. Once someone loses, then they grow the ambition to prove their worth.

 

I think it's entirely down to the individual, it can work for or against the fighter.

Remaining undefeated may be your main driving force, being scared of losing will spur you on. Losing that '0' may destroy confidence irreparably.

On the other hand it can work the entirely opposite way, down to the make-up of the individual.

EDIT: The fighter trying to maintain an unbeaten record is almost always bad news from a fan perspective because they tend to be cautious and cherry pick - to state the obvious!

I guess it also means how you lose it. If you lose it in a war (Berto/Holyfield), a knock out upset (Tyson/Khan), a DQ (Jones Jnr/Ortiz) or bizarre circumstances (Jeffries/Dempsey).
