Joe Calzaghe's defense is not good enough to beat a prime Jones/Hopkins or a Toney

don't listen to people who say calzaghe was shot..because he wasn't.

And Jones was 40 a couple months after Calzaghe..

Also Jones fought well over 100 more rounds than Joe at the time of the fight, and covered more ground in terms of weight.

    Roy 154-160-168-175-HW-175

    Joe 168-175

Jones clearly had more miles on his body, and was older.

Yeah, I would not call that a prime Joe either, but Roy Jones was totally shot when Joe fought him.

Hopkins was not prime either, but had old school dirty tricks and textbook skills on his side to use when he got old when Roy's style was based on unteachable reflexes that were much faded.

I have much respect for Joe, but all this shot Joe talk beating prime Hopkins and Jones is ridiculous.:yep

I know, you were correct in saying Joe was 37 in March. He fought Roy in Nov of the year earlier.

jones was way past it,but still had something when he fought calzaghe.

agreed, hopkins wasn't in his prime, but was still no.1 in the light-heavy division and good enough to dominate tarver and pavlik ,and beat winky comfortably.
ps. stop reading the **** that anglo posts:good

Not sure about the other's, But a 168lbs Toney would do bad things to Joe.

As was Calzaghe when he fought Jones, number 1 LHW, and top #3 P4P, except he was 7 years younger than Hopkins.

It has not only been Anglo, but I have seen many posters justify Hopkins being prime because he was #1 LHW and #3 Pound for pound when Joe fought him, then turn around and call Joe shot in the Jones fight with the same rankings as Hop despite being 7 years younger and call Jones prime because he was ranked in the top 10 LHW by ring.

I have seen ridiculous things out of all nutthuggers, but lately Calzaghe die hard fans totally take the cake. Delusional...

You do seem to be a good poster though, and I also believe Joe was a great fighter, I am not about to let my anger for his delusional fans make me take it out on Joe, the man was great, but come on, he was not top 25 like some suggest.
