Joe Calzaghe's performance against Hopkins = one of the worst performances in boxing.

Hopkins does that to everybody(except Pavlik) He did the same or worse to Winky including head butts. Hopkins is 80 in boxing years so I give him a pass and if you fight him you know you have to deal with that. He headbutting JT and gave him a cut as well. So this is nothing new or Calzaghe manifested. Most Calzaghe fans are delusional and say delusional **** even if the facts smack them upside the head. Like the guy that claimed Bhop landed more shots on Taylor than he did on Calzaghe which if you actually watched the fights you would know that is bull**** without proof. I found the proof and I was right. I dont want a ****ing cookie b/c its really perception. Calzaghe looked like **** in more fights than he looked good in. Most of his exciting fights besides Lacy and Kessler he had to come back from knockdowns, getting hurt etc etc. The dude is ****ing flawed. But to listen to people criticize Dawson for having tough fights against champion level fighters and for his few minor..lol flaws its hilarious.

I hate to say it....But it was VERY reandom slapping from calzaghe in this 1.....Although you gotta give JC the decision on that because of B-Hops lack of activity....I wouldnt have complained if he lost because the judges felt that his unwillingness to throw a REAL punch was pathetic to the sport!

Sorry JewPurdy, I don't see any explanation in your rambling shite as to why Hopkins didn't just walk through Calzaghe's 'slaps' and punch the **** out of him.

    Can you answer that question?

BHop lacked activity in that one because of his opponent. Against Pavlik he was very active and normal, same with Wright. Different opponents force you to apply different tactics. If he was more active in this one he would given Calzaghe more room to counter him and Calzaghe is extremely fast and energetic.

Calzaghe just left Hopkins confused, last time I've seen Hopkins confused like that was against RJJ. Of course this fight was closer than the RJJ fight but still Hopkins was confused at some points and even desperate, close but clear victory for Joe.

Let's not forget Bernie faking the low blows to regain his composure after he was overwhelmed by all the slaps. During the toughest part of the fight for him, Bernie showed his true self, a no-class cheating prison punk, kinda like Tyson during his realization he couldn't win.

Hopkins said it post fight. They were slaps or whatever you want to call them but if he stepped in and let them arm punches land than Calzaghe scores. In what fight have you ever seen Bhop step in and trade punches...... He smothered and spoiled against Winky who has no power as well. It has nothing to do with power but scoring. Bhop knew that Calzaghe could flail out 5 slaps to his two real punches and those type of bull**** flurries impress the judges. He said looking back he would of took the risk thats why he is so dick hard for a rematch. Its basically common sense. Its not like Bhop is Froch or Andrade.

:lol::lol: Right. Hopkins was worried the judges were going to rob him so he decided not to engage with Calzaghe :rofl

You would think after so many years in the business Hopkins would know what to do to win a fight - I mean, you and your kind are all saying the fight was his for the taking :nut

And because he schooled Pavlik for 12 rounds, you assume that what Hopkins says is the truth - that if he 'took the risk' and bothered to put in the effort he would beat Calzaghe..."I'm going for the knockout now" straight from the horses mouth, even though he didn't KO Pavlik

Calzaghe would have bamboozled Pavlik even more than Hopkins did.

Man, if Hopkins wasn't taking any risks with Calzaghe, and didn't put in any effort to hit him, why was he so tired in the later rounds?

He's a poor loser and so are you.

Calzaghe beat him fair and square, in an ugly fight, even with the first round KD.

If Hopkins couldn't be bothered fighting him properly, or took the wrong game plan in, or whatever excuse, that's his problem. It's still an 'L' on his record and no amount of crying after the fact will change that.
