Quite impressive. I'm quick to criticize Calzaghe's overall resume, but the man had quality : [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pX0_b_M9ulk[/ame] 1:20 onwards [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rRUihIn-po&feature=related[/ame] 2:20 on
I think Calzhage definitely had a lot of balls and a championship heart. That helped him a lot in his career.
Calzaghe definitely had some moxie even if he slapped a bit with his punches. He's part Italian so there you go.
the punches from bhop and rjj were more sneaky than over powering. he got up like he should have... what's more impressive than that is the uppercut he took from kessler. bigbone had a gif on here of that shot. kessler unloaded on him with a beauty of an uppercut and joe took it...you could tell it stunned him but he recovered very quick.
Two things people can never question about Calzaghe, his chin, his punch output. Sure people will point to the kd's but if you look at what happens straight after them that shows the quality of chin he had, straight up, take the count, go straight on the attack. Hell I think everytime he took a big shot he opened up.
My stance on Calzaghe has always been this. Did he have a strong resume? No. Was he CLEARLY a great fighter talent and skillwise? Yes. An All Time Great in legacy, perhaps not, but an ATG fighter, certainly.
