Ummm most had hopkins winning including boxing writers and true fans. I had joe winning but i understand why "some" as you say thinks hopkins won. Dawson beat Hopkins was easily far more clearly. <<<Is that mean dawson win over hopkins is an atg?
Joe Cal was a great fighter, but his wins over hops and Jone jr. were tainted. Regardless Joe was an elite and I'm not going to put him down.
Ppl seem to forget when hopkins fought calzaghe, roach was hopkins trainer cause nazi had a problem with his throat in which roach was hopkins new trainer. Roach didnt know what to do with hopkins.
I disagree... Kessler is a good win, Jeff Lacy is a good win even though Jeff Lacy didn't mount to anything (likely due to his shoulder injury), but at the time he was considered the 2nd coming... people forget fighers quickly based on what have you done for me lately mentality, but Lacy was a good fighter. Calzaghe's resume is full of B+ level fighters and some past prime A level fighters.
No.. please tell me where "most" came from. From what I read in the newspaper articles proceeding the fight, they were fine and had Joe winning by 1-2 rounds. Even some experts/historians did.
I'm fairly confident that Nazim was there a secondary trainer. Hopkins worked with Jackson, Richardson AND Roach.
LAS VEGAS—Joe Calzaghe beat Bernard Hopkins in a split decision in their battle in Las Vegas. Yahoo! Sports had it 114-113 for Bernard Hopkins, Adalaide Byrd 114-113 for Hopkins, Chuck GIampa 116-111 for Calzaghe, Ted Gimza had it 115-112 for Calzaghe.
