The British public dont ignore their SMW champ and he had the name and rep back in 2007 to get himself into the super 6.
Your bull**** will never slip past me pencil top.

Johnson has no power (just look at his KO average), and Calzaghe has arguably the best workrate we've seen in the past 30 years (along with Antonio Margarito).

Why would I sound dumb when I'm right? The Bute fight raised Froch's profile massively. That's not stupid, it's right. I'm not talking about on ESB or dedicated boxing websites and forums, I'm talking about with casual fans

As bailey said, Froch's fight with Taylor wasn't even shown on British TV.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/othersports/boxing/6310063/Carl-Froch-still-frozen-out-of-mainstream-TV.html

It wouldn't be hard for me to find a fair few more articles like this - oh and this is from 13th Oct 2009, after Froch had become a world champion and defended his title. In 2007, Froch was little known, and was defending his british title against old Robin Reid!

The same Super Six that started at the end of 2009? :huh Froch got into the Super 6 because he won the WBC title in 2008!

I like Carl and Joe both a lot as fighters. Carl is a throwback fighter who's taken on all comers, if only there were more like him in the game! Joe was a great fighter who was exciting to watch and had a unique style - There are plenty of fair criticisms that can be and are made against Joe, but no matter how much you dislike him, you have to accept just how good he was.

A fight between them would have been great, Carl wanted it badly, Joe didn't, but then he had bigger fish to fry at the time and I don't hold it against Joe whatsoever. Anyone who does probably has an anti Calzaghe agenda.

In 2007 Carl was not a well known and established fighter, he was the British Champ. In this time, Joe took on Kessler and in 2008 when Carl won his first world title in a great fight with Jean Pascal, Joe was up at LHW and fighting in the USA, on HBO PPV. Carl has gone on to achieve great things since then, but if you put 2 and 2 together, back in 2007 (last time they were in the same weight division) Carl would not have been a credible opponent, who would have sold out 50000 seats at the Millenium Stadium like Joe did with Kessler.

In 2013 Carl has the profile you are the talking about, but to say he did in 2007 is revisionism at it's finest.

No doubt you'll respond with a couple of lines calling me an idiot and saying I'm wrong, and then not actually doing anything to prove me wrong, which is customary with you

The Taylor fight went out on bbc radio to a large audience because showtime had the rights.

He fought Dirrell on primetime and on PPV, the same station Manny fights on. Unknown fighters dont fight on PPV.

Calzaghe has higher KO ratio than Pacquiao, Froch, Hopkins, RJJ, Lacy....that does not mean Calzaghe has more power than them. KO percentage is not always the best indication to measure power. Johnson has actually put opposition to sleep, Calzaghe never accomplished such thing.

Why would showtime limit their revenue by refusing to sell the fight to a UK broadcaster? Especially considering Froch is British :nut What casual fans would be up at 3am listening to the radio :think

The last station Froch and his team would have wanted that fight to be on was Crimetime

Has Joe even put someone down for a 10 count?

I think this is the closest Calzaghe has got:-

    [yt]cZRu9r6tzqo[/yt]

EDIT: Here is one guy who didn't make the full 10 count from a body shot.

    [yt]VL0uqguzMKs[/yt]

This one is Calzaghe's most cleanest KO but he was gets up straight away after the ref stops the fight.

Funny I should ask of this, I just left another thread of people claiming he hit harder than Nigel Benn.

 I would rather get slapped up by Calzaghe than take a beating from Benn

I've never seen Calzaghe knock someone down for the count like Benn could, but I've never seen Benn dominate a fight from start to finish without being hit by anything meaningful for the whole fight like Calzaghe did against Lacy. They were different fighters with different strenghts.

You had to find the fight and watch it on Youtube? Not seen it before obviously.
As you can see, froch was being outworked for the first 7 rounds and put onto the back foot for large parts of the fight. Just listen to the commentary at the end of round 5 and start of round 6 where they said its a test for Froch and were feeling Froch was struggling and Witter saying if Froch doesnt box he could be in trouble.
Watch the fight again and stop being in denial

So you said Froch got outworked for the first 7 rounds, but then beats him up for the last 5 rounds?

How can an outworked fighter being still working in the final 5 rounds.
