17:35 John H Stracy - former World champion

There's only 2 Journalists who said he'd beat all the British/Eire guys.
    They're only journalists.
    Their points are moot.

I'd take the words of a former World champion then the opinions of journalist.

Their points are moot because they're journalists.
But your point is valid because....

Chris Eubank was a former champion, and he was actually scared to fight Jones.

    What does that say?
How often does a boxer come out and say "I never wanted to fight that guy in his prime, I knew I couldnt beat him"

Stracy also said "Im one of the only ones who think Collins could beat him"

Does that sound like "most Europeans thought Collins could beat him"

Their points are moot yes, one was a SUN journalist and another was just some guy who ran a website I think?
They know as much about boxing as you and me.

A former World champion favoured Collins.
    Now, that's some serious backing.
That's like Mike Tyson backing Manny to beat FMJ
Tyson's opinion matters more than any journalist because he's been in the ring.

Eubank pays respect to every single boxer out there.
He'd probably say good stuff about BJS who's about to face his son soon, even after all the sxxx BJS has been saying.
    That's just Eubanks character.

Collins, Joe and Benn wanted to fight RJJ
    What does that tell you?

RJJ never mentioned any of their names?
    What does that tell you?

    Theres "paying respect"
And then theres saying in your own autobiography that you never wanted to fight the guy!

Joe was too busy beating the likes of Tocker Pudwill at 168 to go up and fight Jones at 175.

Benn has said on camera that the fight was hard tro make because of politics. He said in the same interview that he didnt mind being considered #2 to Jones.

Collins wanted the fight, but so too is lots of others.
They were in the same weight class for the briefest of time.

If you think Jones was so afraid of Collins that he went up a division to fight bigger, stronger guys and take apart 2 guys who had beaten Collins....then good for you.

Also Richie Woodhall is a former world champion and he says right at the start that Jones is the best fighter in the world.
    What about his opinion?

Joe never wanted to fight Roy.

Don't put him in the same bracket as Collins and Benn.

Also, why would Roy have mentioned their names?

Roy beat Toney, and according to HBO and Liles's manager, Liles turned down the fight.

Roy then went on to fight Griffin, Hill, Johnson, Tarver, Ruiz and Calzaghe etc.

Yet he feared Collins at 27?

    Do me a favour!

The only thing I agree on, is that Roy never wanted to fight Collins.

That's true. But everyone has a different set of circumstances surrounding them.

Collins didn't want to fight Calzaghe.

Calzaghe didn't want to fight Froch.

It appears that Froch doesn't want to fight Degale.

    The list goes on.

Roy missed a few names, just like everyone does.

Is it true that you wanted nothing to do with the Michael Nunn & James Toney?
“That’s interesting, because I signed to fight both Nunn and James Toney. As part of the contract with Don King for Nunn, where I was the first fighter to get one over on him when me and Nigel drew. And as part of the contract with SKY for James Toney, where I was the first fighter to sign for a TV company direct, but he lost to Roy Jones.”

Did Roy Jones Jr duck you?
“I was never mandated. But I asked Roy Jones about 10 or 12 years ago if he’d said back in ’93 that the one fighter he thought would give him problems and had reservations of taking on was me. He told me yes that was true.”

"Collins wanted the fight, but so too is lots of others.
They were in the same weight class for the briefest of time."

Jones won the IBF SMW title in 1994
Collins won the WBO title march 1995

2 years in the same weight class?

    Both World champions?
1 wanting the fight, one looking for a way out?

Roy Jones never was the king of SMW
He never beat the best. Collins beat both Eubank and Benn twice.
    And wanted the unification fight.
    What Roy did was duck.

If, hypothetically a few years ago Martinez and GGG were regarded as the number 1 and 2 in the 160 division and GGG moved up in weight to fight some crappy belt holder like Abraham than it would be called a duck.
    Pure and simple.

Dariusz Michalczewski was the man at LHW
Montell Griffin was a John Ruiz.

    What does that prove?

THAT is actually an example of paying respect to a fighter. "Yeah, he'd have given me a tough fight"

Thats completely different from saying "I never wanted to fight the guy"

It tells you that both fighters were not after meeting one another.
Eubank avoided Jones as much as Jones avoided him?
    Care to disagree with that?

Did Jones ever openly say "I never want/wanted to fight Eubank?"

So yes, i completely disagree that Jones ever avoided Eubank.
How can you avoid someone who absolutely would never get in the ring with you??

Jones fought HOF fighters without hesitation. He went to HW and fought a top 5 HW who had 30 lbs on him.

You think he was afraid of Eubank?

    And?

Saying that "yeah, that guy could give me problems" is NOT the same as saying "I didnt want to fight the guy"

    Its called being respectful

Why do you keep using this statement, while at the same time trying to say Roy was running from Collins?

That would make this statement false, correct?
