What if Roy went to CW and fought Juan Carlos Gomez or Jirov?

Because I don't think Calzaghe was the awful joke you think he is. Hardly. Actual fights like SRL respect and praise him as a fighter and I think they know a fair but more about this game than me or you ever will.

Anyway as I'm sure you're aware RJJ was never undisputed because he wouldn't fight DM.

I think the fight would actually be good for a few rounds.

I see Calzaghe's heart being his undoing late... Kind of like what Roy predicted for the Calzaghe- Lacy fight, except it is a prime Jones Jr and not Lacy.

DM was the champ. RJJ should have made a few concessions to make the fight but in typically arrogant American fashion thought he could call all the shots.

When Calzaghe was undisputed SMW champ and wanted to challenge lineal LHW champ Hopkins what did he do? He went to America despite the fact he could sell the millennium stadium at that point.

In fairness to B-Hop once he lost the fight he said he'd travel to Wales for the rematch. Why? Because he realised Calazaghe was now the champ at the weight. Unfortunately Roy only discovered his passport when he became a punching bag.

He did play semi pro and part-time mostly, I'm not sure if there are any videos of his matches to be honest. At least I never stumbled upon any.

He was so full of **** that when this interview took place, all the guys he mentioned never cared to publicly comment on what he said. Deluded keyboard trolls like you are full of ****.

Just a crap thread. If Jones beat Calzaghe, that would very clearly be one of his best wins, ever. Jones is probably better but so what? Calzaghe was still an extraordinary fighter and might have been the very best fighter ever to take up an opposition corner to Jones had he met him at his very best.

You wonder what goes through people's heads sometimes.

No one would have given a damn if he beat him in his prime just like they never gave a damn about other top quality fighters he beat. Calzaghe was/is virtually unknown.

Calzaghe is one of the biggest British sporting stars in modern history. Saying he is unknown is preposterous.
