Punching and finishing are two different things. Shavers never KO'd an elite heavyweight near the height of his powers but everyone agreed he was the hardest puncher of his era.

    Choynski's percentage is 42.86%
    Ray Robinson's is 54%
    Ike Williams's is 38.85%
    George Ko Chaney's is 33.72%
    Jack Delaney's is 47. 85 %
    Lew Jenkins is 42.86%
    Charley White's is 33.72%

Anyone think SRR was not a dynamite puncher ?
How about Ike Williams? Was he a mediocre hitter?
Chaney was called KO, I should think that one is self evident.
Charley White was rated by some the greatest left hooker ever.
Lew Jenkins right hand was legendary.
Jack Delaney stretched class men with his right hand.
You frequently disparage Box rec ,now you attempt to use it to bolster a view ,which none apppear to agree with.

    Forgot to answer this.
I have to admit there is some validity in your argument, but I am swayed by the opinions of men who actually fought Choynski,[and each other],their opinions cannot be ignored.

    Not necesarily.

KO % tends to be inversley proportional to quality of opposition.

Choynski was thrown in against murderous opposition from cradle to grave.

Your argument that Choynski was a not top level puncher hinges on the fact that lesser men went the distance with him, how do you then account for the fact that class men were often kod?
Lets look at those you mentioned.
Maher went 6 rds with him and was kod in 2rds in their 2nd fight.
Mathews went the distance ,but it was only a 3rounder.
Choynski had allready kod an opponent ,[Smith] , on the same day

Ryan went 20rds with Choynski, 2 months later he was kod in 7 rds.
McCormick went 6rds with him,his record is not imposing but he was meeting name fighters for the most part,he twice went the route with Joe Butler went into the 8th with Ruhlin, went 6rds to a draw with Goddard, so not a bum.
The Bean fight was a no contest so lets refrain from passing judgement on that one.
Dunkhorst was a 6 rounder, Dunkhorst had just gone 6 rds with Maher to a dec 22rds with Ruhlin, before being tkod and fought a draw with Armstrong.

    Dwyer was a 4 rounder
    Madden a 4 rounder
    Douglas a 3 rounder
    Miller a 3 rounder

Armstrong a 6 rounder , Armstrong was a cautious defensive fighter ,who rarely took chances going 6 rds to a draw with him is not a reflection on your punching ability imo.He would later go 10rds with Jeffries.

    Ferguson was a 4 rounder
    Kelliher a 2 rounder
    Hart a 3 rounder
    West a 3 rounder.
My point is these were all very abbreviated fights, the majority 3 ,or 4 rounders ,Willie Meehan ,several times went the distance with Dempsey in 4 rounders.
4 rounds does not give you a lot of time to ko a man who may well be there just to survive.

Look at Choynski's reaction in his fight with the badly outclassed and battered Bernau, Choynski begs the ref to call it off.

These bouts listed ,look like barnstorming eating money ,3/4rounders to me.I cannot place a lot of reliance on them in terms of evaluating Choynski's power.
One wonders how seriously Choynski took these bouts?
