Joseph Cordina born Dec. 1, 1991 is a 5'9 Super Featherweight/Lightweight with a 4-0 4 KO's record. Born in and fighting out of Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom. Fast Eddie Hearn knows his ****, and has been on quite a role lately because of it, its no shock that he snatched up the very talented Joe Cordina the moment he turned pro, he's a rangy lanky, pretty handsome kid, who also happens to have an appealing personality, and most importantly he brings the action. He's one of the more exciting to watch young prospects in the game, he's incredibly fast, has a sharp jab, fast feet, very fluid movement, lights his opponents up with combinations, nasty hooks, and he seems to be a little more heavy handed than your average Brit/Welsh Light/Super Featherweight, who usually take up to 10 fights before they learn how to sit down on their punches, and even then the KO's are few and far between. He genuinely wants to put on a show, he's versatile, he can fight off the back foot, or coming forward, and really likes gunning for the KO, like his good buddy and inspiration Anthony Joshua, and that is a very good thing, and will definitely help in his marketing. His biggest claim to fame in the amateur ranks was securing Gold in the 2015 European Amateur Championships, he didn't make it to the 2012 London Games, he was stopped and eliminated by David Joyce, but he did managed to make the team for 2016 and made it all the way to the semifinals, where he was eventually eliminated by the brilliant Conceição, and there's no shame in losing to him. He needs to be a little more careful, I don't like how much he gets hit, but other than working on his defense, and not looping his punches as much, he's pretty solid already. So as long as his chin holds up, and they don't rush him too quickly, he's got potential to be one of the next breakout stars from the UK, alongside Kelly and Taylor, although skill wise, not quite on Taylor's level. He's got a style that will probably translate to the pros well, and he'll probably be a better pro than an amateur. So... can Cordina become the next Pride Of Wales, the next Italian Dragon, the next Super Joe? Probably not, but he's already got the name, ethnicity and nationality for it. So Check Out The Wizard Of Wales in Action.:ggg:ggg:ggg:ggg

I like Cordina. Doesn't get the same attention as Kelly, Taylor or Buatsi for example but I think he's just as good. Biggest compliment I can give him is he is just very well rounded. Not much to dislike. He's in a good division domestically with lots of up and coming fighters. A fight between Cordina and Zelfa Barrett looks inevitable at some point in the future.

I was hesitant to do a thread on him, since he's only had 4 pro fights, and who knows he may fall apart the first time he takes a moderate step up, but based on the eye test, so far he's looked better than Stevenson or Conlon, who both have underwhelmed me, and its not like they had to face next level world beaters yet either.

I’m not impressed by both those guys, their styles are very amateurish. What do you think of Josh Kelly? he looks more capable than Cordina in the fights I’ve seen.

Same here, they're both featherfisted and dull, its a pity Jamie Conlon has a **** chin, he's far more entertaining than Michael. I like Kelly, in fact, I'll probably be doing a thread on him next, I've been meaning to do a few Brit threads for awhile, my belated Taylor thread a few months ago was suppose to kick it off, but I got distracted by some stuff. Kelly needs to not get too attached to that hands down style, because sooner or later someone is going to make him pay for it big time, but thus far, I love what I see, especially that nasty ass left hook of his.

Lol yeah Jamie is so entertaining he gets into Ward against journeymen. He is gunna get brutalised when he fights the WBO champ.

Your spot on all the Adam booth guys do it, it’s so annoying. It looks nice and flashy against no hopers but if you use that style against a Porter you will severely regret it.

I like what I've seen so far from Cordina. Seems to go forgotten amongst the upcoming British Olympians. Okolie and Fowler are often talked about as the most likely to fail once they step up, and Buatsi & Kelly are seen by many as the biggest talents. I see Cordina as being as good as those two so far. Of course this is very much early days so this will likely change at some point.
