Before the Bell action. This is just a stay-busy fight for Nicholson before a big one in a few months time. Normally we would see fights like this on the main card but not on this one. All the main card fights are competitive with the opponent being given good-notice and coming to win, just like the Katie Taylor Chantelle Cameron card on May 20.

Arena is basically sold-out already. Back-to-back sellouts from Cordina. If he fights Barrett next, I'd assume it would be in Cardiff and not Manchester ?

Good replacement opponent. Sanchez only has losses to Oscar Valdez, Adam Lopez, and Christopher Diaz, all on points. He is coming off a recent win in February too. However, he is a natural featherweight.

You write that the main card consists of competitive fights ?

Have you seen Luke Watkins last fight ? Jordan will have no problem winning. I wouldn't be surprised if he wins inside 2 or 3 rounds.

By the way : It's a good piece of matchmaking by Matchroom.

I agree. DramaShow talks about Matchroom's events on a level where they don't belong at all. They had Wood vs Lara (a really good fight, looking forward to the rematch) + AJ's comeback which was an event. The rest of what Matchroom has presented so far here in the U.K. has been on the same level as all other promoters.

If you have to praise a promoter for putting together a great card, the award has to go to Premier Boxing Champions for their event on March 25th. 3 out of 4 fights on the main card (Cody Crowley vs Abel Ramos, Chris Colbert vs Jose Valenzuela and Jesus Ramos vs Joey Spencer) were absolutely fantastic.

Tickets basically sold out with about 50 left looking at the ticket map. 2 consecutive sellouts for Cordina headlining in Wales. Great to see a world level fighter in Britain selling out arenas which we haven't had many of since the old generation retired.

Best press conference moment of the year ? He dressed as spider-man during the open workout. Doing well to raise his profile is Brandon Scott.

Only until June 10th when the 'Double World title show' you told us about happens. Featuring on for the ages epic war between Shannon Courtenay (8-2) & 41 year old Nina Hughes (5-0),how can anything compare to that

Not a huge arena though, did Hearn not say it was 5000 tickets? I don't think there's a chance in hell Cordina does a Calzaghe and sells out a stadium - he'd have a shot at the Manchester Arena or similar but there's just not enough mainstream knowledge of fighters these days to enable it. Certainly not from exposure on DAZN.

Nothing against Cordina at all, on his current progress he'd deserve it.
