You are so naive you are just talking out of your ass right now. A ref can do this 80% of the time and 20% the other. This ain't poker and this sport doesn't have a rulebook that relies on probablilty. If there is no 3 kd rule then the fight continues until he fighter is unfit to continue. What can't u understand about that..geez
Bull**** I been giving ishida praise. Look up the japanese thread or atleast read all of my posts in his thread.
agreed there is no 3 knockdown rule and there was no reason to stop that fight since Kirkland was obviously able to continue. What's surprising is how inconsistent he is but I guess you can say that the stakes were a lot higher for Pac vs JMM and also Pac sort of hit JMM while he was down but the ropes were partially holding him up.
The facts are there. Márquez - Pacquiao is an exception. Kirkland was chickendancing and wobbly. Good stoppage.
How did you even see that? Kirkland was tackled by Cortez to even been given a chance to get up. And when Marquez was KD the 3rd time he gave up for like 2 seconds and Cortez could of stopped it there but kept counting. Its easy to say JMM/Pac is the exception because of the aftermath but you dont allow one fighter a chance after 3kds but deny a different fighter a chance after being KD 3 times.
Kirkland was flashing the chickendance when he was hit after the second KD, and he was wobbly after the second KD too. He was done. Cortéz did the right thing, he would have been horribly KO'd. Keep talking about Mar-Pac, a fight that has nothing to do with this one.
Because Cortez realized that Kirkland is glass jawed and being knocked down 3 times by a fighter who has 6 KO's and a career 154 pounder is embarrassing enough. He actually spared Kirkland the embarrassment of being knocked out unconscious. At least he can still spout that the fight was stopped prematurely like most of you here.
He didn't do a a damn thing wrong last night that I saw- but he should have been banned from boxing for his behavior in Hatton-Mayweather in Las Vegas.
bad stoppage. Joe should have let Kirkland stand up and give him the 8 count. if he truly sees kirkland's legs were done and wobbly, then that should have been the time for a stoppage. Just another shitty refereeing by old Joe...
