Ahh bull****. Boxing fans love nothing more than being able to call somebody either "washed up" or "underrated". They don't have time for racism; they're too busy posting somewhere, on some thread that "so-and-so" will either:

A) get KTFO or
B) KTFO someone to whom they are a 15-1 shot

in their next fight, then bookmark the link, so that 3 months later they can bump the thread and say "See, told you so. LMAO ROTFL LOL!!!!11!

Too much work to do all of that, and still be racist.

 

Relevance has what exactly to do with how hurt a fighter is and whether a fight should be stopped or not? If a fighter can continue, and no three knockout rule is in effect, I don't care if its a fight to determine P4P champ or not even televised, it shouldn't be stopped. If Kirkland had been allowed to get up, had stumbled around and not responded to key questions, ok, stop it to protect him. But he wasn't even allowed to get to his feet, and he obviously had his wits about him, as he was struggling to get Cortez off him. Man, you don't have to respect me, but you don't have an argument. Also, Kirkland was also landing regularly. You act as if its absurd to think he could've gotten up, gathered himself, and turned the fight around...

 

Bull****? Haha, check every "_____ IS A GLASSED JAWED FRAUD" chinchecker thread for evidence. Fans love to gloat in a fighter's "exposure", the chincheckers just do it most.

You're too full of yourself man. You have an opinion and you think its the word of god or something. Show me where it is written in a boxing rulebook that the relevance of a fight determines how far a referee should go before it is stopped.

 

I understand your points , I just think a fighter like Kirkland is best saved for another day, OK he may have gotten up , turned the fight around and been in fight of the year, but that was probably less than 5% , where as the bigger chance was that he was getting knocked cold by a non punching 35 year old .

I think his career could have been finished , but it isnt .

Also to say I dont have an argument is a little strange, if the Japanese fighter had been dropped three times in the same manner we wouldnt be having this conversation....

 

Not really just boxed and have been involved in the sport for 30 years and know when a correct decision is made, again if this had been the Japanese boxer being stopped we wouldnt have a problem , but because its Kirkland it becomes an issue.

 

If you want, I can bump or post a thread I made about the Alvarez vs Gonzalez fight in which I thought Gonalez was doing well and the ref made an early/bad stoppage.

You can if you wish ,but im not sure what the relevance it has to this fight, if a fighter is competitive and gets dropped in an evenly fought contest and gets stopped I would be disappointed in the ref , but on this occasion Kirkland was completely outmatched from the 1st second of the fight.

I have seen many good and bad stoppages , plus Cortez isnt on my list of great refs , but on this occasion he was correct.

 

Kirkland either got exposed, had a bad day, or just didnt bother training for the fight !! either way Cortez done the right thing. He was only gunna get dropped again..

He needs to get back in the gym and find some motivation. Prisons obviously done something to him(made him soft )

 

Honestly man , get angry with somebody else , you cannot get a rise out of me, its clear you are half pissed at 3am.
