Khan will make this look like a Wlad fight. Jab and grab all night long. **** like this is killing boxing. I will still honor my two week ban bet.
What you saw was good refereeing. I do not contest you complaining about the knockdowns, but I admire the referee for deducting points for pushing. Pushing is illegal and is a maneuver that delays action and forces resets. It should be illegal, it makes the fighting more entertaining to watch. If all referees acted more like this, (and deducted points for holding and pushing), boxers would more likely stop these cheap, illegal tricks. It gives you a better sport to watch.
Peterson has no say, either does Khan. Nevada decides who referees the fight. You ****wit! :scaredas:
I'll watch the fight, but there is a good chance this helps him win. Try to recognize that at least. :deal
Noone thinks Cortez is corrupt, they are aware he is very obviously incompetent. And no, he was not helping Maidana, there was a point where Khan was in trouble, and Cortez jumped inbetween them and split them up
if no other referee does it...ever...it is not good refereeing. & frankly a boxing match getting decided by referee calls for something that goes unpunished in almost every fight is the definition of bad refereeing. cortez has been a very bad referee numerous times too tbf. i'd rather have a fight where you don't need to talk about the ref one way or another......so i hope this story isn't true cos cortez is a horrible pick that clearly favours one fighter because he favours a certain style...so hopefully it won't happen. but cooper was ****ing awful in the first fight & that did happen.
I wouldn't be surprised if he takes cash, but your right; I think Cortez if far to dumb to figure any of this "corruption stuff" out. :yep
The ref in the Khan fight did well with regards to the points deducted He warned Khan numerous times, that's all there is to say really And it's not the definition of bad refereeing, I do not see over two dozen straight armed pushes in other fights If he took a point the first time Khan did it, fair enough, but he didn't, he warned him, numerous, numerous, numerous times It is no different to taking points for excessive holding enforcing the rules =/= bad ref
Why do you think referees are not deduct points for pushing? The referees should go by the boxing rules, not based on what other referees are doing. If they did, how would we know what is illegal and what is not?
watch vitali/chisora. & enforcing the rules differently to every other ref = bad refereeing...even if you are technically correct. a world title fight is not the place to make a political stance about pushing.
dude shouldn't be reffing anything anymore. I wouldn't let him watch me and a friend play Fight Night.
cos it's ****ing boxing not ****ing tiddlywinks. boxing matches shouldn't be getting decided on technicalities.
