Just finished watching this fight again, and I think Mayweather would have an easy time with the Hatton that showed up in the Castillo fight. Though Castillo was clearly a shell of himself, he visibly hurt Hatton several times with CLEAN bodyshots. Hatton would wince when he got hit with legal bodyshots, and Cortez would warn Castillo for low blows. The bodyshot that Cortez penalized Castillo for was no where near low....the glove didn't even touch the beltline. That bodyshot clearly hurt Hatton. Castillo didn't even protest the aweful point deduction by Cortez because Cortez had been getting the call wrong in the previous rounds. I believe Castillo knew the ref was against him. In that same round Hatton lands a left hook to Castillo's body, and Castillo decides to pack it in. The look on Castillos face( as he took a knee ) was not one of pain, but one of frustration. He was up against it. I don't know what Cortez was thinking in this fight. I don't know if this was a case of incompitence or corruption. He was clearly being unfair to Castillo. Mayweather says he will exploit Hatton's weakness and I believe he is talking about Hatton's weakness to the body. Urango had Hatton badly hurt to the body and Castillo was visibly hurting him to the body. On another note, Cortez didn't allow Hatton to hold that much. In the first two rounds of the fight, Cortez gave stern warnings for constant holding. Hatton adjusted his style in the following rounds, holding a lot less. Mayweather will win this fight comfortably, injury or no injury.
I didn't see Hatton hurt whatsoever. You can fabricate bull**** lies and say Hatton was hurt but that doesn't equal fact.
I would much prefer Steve Smoger in this fight. Cortez gets too involved on an inside fight, and that could make for a lot of breaks in the action. A guy like Smoger, makes the fighters fight out of clinches, to the point they start doing it automatically. With Cortez, Mayweather can rely on him always breaking them apart, if he decides to hold Hatton or vice versa.
Well you need to rewatch the fight again. I didn't remember Hatton being hurt either, until I rewatched the fight. I think the ending of the fight overshadowed what had been happening in the fight. Watch it again. One of the HBO channels will be showing the fight tommorow night. When I say hurt, I don't mean Hatton was about to quit. Hatton was wincing and jumping when the shots landed....atleast in the last two rounds. A few more rounds of those Castillo bodyshots, and I think he would have been in trouble.....Cortez, however, wouldn't let it be for whatever reason.
Well I saw Hatton make a slight adjustment. He was still clinching, but not as much as the first round. His clinching was rediculous in that first round.
Hatton was JUMPING AND WINCING??? What the **** are you on dude? I've never ever seen Hatton do anything like that in any fight. Even against Collazo he didn't JUMP AND WINCE.
Watch the fight *******! I don't mean jumping like Micheal Jordan....whenwas the last time you saw the fight?
Hatton was hurt by several Castillo punches, but the HBO commentators were too busy sucking Hatton's **** to mention it. Watch it with the sound off. The fight was alot more interesting in the rds before the bodyshot.
