yea people really think thats inside fighting thats holding and hitting you want to see inside fighting watch gatti vs ward 1 rd9 i think its rd9 that is inside fighting no holding needed just swinging with both hands not swinging with one holding with the other not clinching after you hit the other guy 1 time but with that said cortez is a *******

    Favoritism :
1 : the showing of special favor : partiality 2 : the state or fact of being a favorite

You answered the question yourself. Cortez can be bought. Plain and simple.

Cortez is an absolute clown. Aside from regularly showing some bias toward one fighter or another, some of his actions are down right dangerous. He left Soto bleeding on the floor of the ring for 5 minutes without medical attention before that hideous disqualification against Lorenzo. Frankly he shouldn't be allowed to referee anymore.

Cortez is pro american fighters when he is ref for a USA vs rest of world fight in america simple as that, just as that clown referee Terry O'Connor is pro calzaghe with his early bs stoppages in wales and england.

If a non american fights a big name american fighter in the states you ARE NOT GOING TO GET AN IMPARTIAL REF simple as that.

And it happens in most countries, happens in england germany too.

If the Hatton Mayweather fight was held in england he wouldn't have done what he did it's strange but true.

Some refs cant help but favour the home fighter it's very odd, it just seems to be the way it goes and everyone accepts it.

The performance Cortez put on in the Mayweather/Hatton fight was outrageous. He should have been forcibly retired.

Cortez had been a poor ref for awhile. He got a lot more negative attention for his handling of the Mayweather-Hatton fight, much of it by Hatton fans, but he'd had shittier performances in recent years.

Willams-Pakau and Quartey-Bojorquez. Good idea "Firm But Foolish" Joe, why don't you just stand there and let a guy with no chance of winning just continue to use his head as a punching bag and not stop it? For crying out loud, even Merchant was calling for a stoppage a couple rounds before it finally was stopped.

Cortez is no worse than Laurence Cole. He kept grabbing and pulling on Taylor and Lacy without even saying break. I was screaming "he's gonna get somebody knocked out" at the tv.
