I complained about that lol.

Cortez's inconsistency is what pisses me off. You just don't know how he's going to call things fight by fight anymore, and that's not something that makes for a good ref.

 

Cortez = GBP referee.

Even Merchant said at some point "Now what is the ref doing?" when he was jumping in over and over.

 

i have seen Cortez slowing down a lot. Sometimes I dont even understand what the **** he is saying. However, If I was Cortez Maidana would have lost more than one point last night. I think Cortez was very nice to him.

 

Khan can only box in the center of the ring. He is not that accurate and keeps his mouth open. Sloppy.

 

Na, Khan hung in there like a champ. Maidana never stopped using dirty tactics and even when he had Khan in trouble he was still using them and it backfired on Maidana. Just like Maidana had Khan in trouble the same could be said about Khan having Maidana in trouble, but he wasn't using dirty tactics hitting behind the head and of all things hitting the ref!

Why stop the fight if the fighter is able to continue and goes on to win the fight?

 

I thought the elbow call was bull****. Looked accidental to me in the replay.

 

And you know he almost thought about stopping it when he went to Khan after the corner. "I can't have you taking those kind of punches Amir." Yeah, but like Luke said.

 

it looks like the reason Maidana elbowed Cortez was because Cortez seemed to "get off" from feeling Maidana's back against his chest.

It looked like Cortez was gratifying himself, and Maidan got pissed and elbowed him.

Cortex blatently done everything for khan and nothing for Maidana. He spoiled the fight as he did woth Hatton and Mayweather. They should retire him he is too old and has lost it!

 

Just watched the fight again. I can't believe how many time Cortez warned Khan for holding and holding the head down without taking a point. Just poor and inconsistent refereeing by Cortez.
