I'll have to comply that Holyfield/Ruiz and Soto/Lorenzo was a way bad call, but on the Floyd/Hatton actually there wasn't **** Ricky could to win, couldn't blame it on Cortez... BTW who was the Ref on Miranda/Abraham 1 wasn't Cortez?
Smoger out of Connecticut or Wayne Kelly out of New York should get the call on Cotto-Margo.They allow the fighters to battle it out without undo interfearence!:thumbsup
I will take you further back.. when Holmes was robbed against Mike Spinks.. It was a certain Mister Cortez whos point allowed Spinks to steal the dodgy upset............ That was in 1985.......... he was poisoness back then...
i think people are exaggerating The guy's intentions are good, but he makes mistakes like many other refs

Spinks won the rematch by 2 pts on the deciding card, so it wouldn't have mattered. The blame goes to the judges in the rematch who robbed Holmes. Holmes won 9 rounds. I had no problem with Spinks winning the first fight though, just the rematch.
What's the education level of refs anyways? That ref couldn't even answer questions from Max Kellerman. Was one lost mofo and looks dumb as **** too.
Cotto vs. Margo is a VERY important fight, i truly doubt that they will give the fight to Cortez, maybe he'll referee an undercard bout.
Common guys he's fair, but firm..can't go wrong with a guy like that, lol...in all reality I hope that whoever the ref is on fight night, we have a clean and fair fight cuz this is the most anticipated fight right now and it would suck for it top be ruined by some shady business.
