I respect Enzo so much as a trainer, what he did for the likes of Enzo Mac, Rees and Pryce was amazing. But Did Enzo make Joe a world champion or was it the case of Joe being a one off talent and would of been a world champion if he trained with another trainer or trained on his own?

Joe was a success despite his father and not because.

Calzaghe would have always been right there at the top, but I feel his father was important to him. He's a home bird, he likes being around his family. He sacrificed top notch modern training facilities and sparring for that. That tells me he probably wouldn't have faired well away from home, away from Enzo. He might have lost motivation. Enzo was important as a figure in his life, not specifically as a trainer.

Enzo didn't have to do a lot with Joe as he is naturally a top class boxer fighter and he was there more for motivation than anything else. Still Enzo has worked wonders for other fighters to train Gavin Rees to a World title is amazing for Enzo as Rees was never a big puncher but has a lot of heart. With Enzo Mac he only had 1 thing good going for him and Enzo got it out of him time and time again until he stepped in with Haye his power KO'd a lot of fighters until Haye. The best fighter to come out of the gym since Joe is Nathan Cleverly I think he will become a World Champion I know Enzo does not train him anymore down to Warren than anything else but he will be a World Champion and I think may end up back with Enzo soon enough.

To be fair tho, look at the difference in Clev since he left, he has had 4 KO's in a row!!!

Yes he has done wonders since he left but he had the Warren Calzaghe **** hanging over his head for some time when working with Enzo. He did the right thing and has nothing to bother him and is preforming well. I hope he goes all the way to the top as he seems to have his head screwed on and is comited to boxing.

Yeah, although a lot of that is down to his body and mind maturing imo.

He's got some nice skills, reminds me a lot of Calzaghe in a lot of ways...he has even started mimicking his showboating, as well as the getting drawn into a war element that Joe had until late in his career.

I will quote David Haye on this one:

"Mr Bean could have trained Joe Calzaghe and he still would have been a world champion"
