Well, there's more to the story than that. Marvis didn't have his father's amateur career and he was brought up WAY too quickly. He had no business being in the ring with Holmes at that point, he wasn't allowed to develop.

:nono What are you talking about Marvis had a lengthy amatuer career, and was being groomed for the 80 olympic games in Moscow until James Broad brutally knocked him out in the TRials. If US would have gone Broad would have Represented the Us and Fraizer was to be the alternate. He was the 79 national golden gloves champ and 80AAU national champ. It is true that he was rushed to quickly in the pros, his father should have known better thant to put him in with Holmes while only having 12 or 14 fights. HE wouldnt have made it anyways he was to small, he would have been better off at cruiser where he would have been good enough to win a title there.

I apologize, I did know he had a number of bouts but did not know that he was a national champion. But, my point about the pros is still well taken, he never should have been anywhere near Holmes at that point in his career. Holmes fought a few very-green fighters for that matter.

I heard that Marvis is son of Joe but I cant belive because Joe Fraizer was born at 1946 and Marvis Fraizer at 1960, here Im confused because Joe was father with 16 year old...

Marvis had considerable skill, but I like Broad's chances against Teofilio Stevenson's better than his.
