He was in the top 3 in Ring's ratings for 9 years of the greatest ers in the division's history. He has the greatest victory in the division's history over the greatest fighter in the division's history.

Tell more more about his shortcomings.

Ali must have lacked Marciano's "will to win" and assorted other "intangibles"... (wink, wink)

Frazier had very good power, Rocky had a great right hand. I don't like Joe Frazier in constant range of the rocks right hand. This thing would be fireworks like the Marciano Dempsey matchup. I might favor Marciano in close where Joe can't crank a big left hook in the infighting. 50/50 fight.

An Ali post prime. Ali won 2/3 and scored the only stoppage.

Marciano was the far greater fighter. Ali who fought Joe and sparred with Rocky felt Marciano was the better fighter.

Frazier was the greater fighter. Longer career at the top during a much more talented era. Greater signature victory and dare i say better depth of resume.

I know it is a heavy burden for those waiting for another short, trex, slow white boy to take the division but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Marciano may very well beat Frazier ,I would make him a very slight favourite to do so , but there is absolutely no basis to suggest that he ,or any other fighter, would be capable of breaking his will.

Ali had swollen hip joints after FOTC he seemed to have no trouble hooking low in that fight!
Another factor about who lands first is hand-speed, and also accuracy and both are definitely in Frazier's favour!

Marciano leaned to the right in his crouch , which would be straight into the path of Frazier's hook!
