Joe Frazier 1971 v Muhammad Ali 1974

I've heard Jim Lampley say Frazier won the second when I watched Frazier's Beyond The Glory documentary. I've heard posters on this very board say Frazier won. Futch and Joe were claiming that they were robbed.

I said rounds 4 and 11 could've gone either way but I gave it to Frazier. He landed the cleaner and more effective shots.

 

Not heard 'Arry on that one. My version had Reg, with his one Scotch Egg.

 

Ali won the 11th but Frazier may have won the 12th. Ali flurried at the end of the round but missed a lot.

Frazier looked quite slow, in my opinion, and lacked much of the fire he showed in their first fight.

People on this board have also said Ali won FOTC. People on this board have said a lot of things.

I just disagree. 4 could have been called even, or with a bit of good will perhaps even in Joe's favour, but to give Joe both of them is wrong as I seee it.

We'll have to agree to disagree here I suppose.

 

Jim Lampley clearly doesn't like Ali. That's just my impression. Ali won the 2nd fight handedly I thought. I'm going to re-watch though.
