  1. the facts are that frazier had better chin than louis, louis was stopped by max schmeling and he was down by a weak man like a past prime bradock, joe was down by prime bonavena who was by far stronger, very solid and more durable than bradock ., joe was stopped by george foreman , do you need explanation of the difference among schmeling and foreman?. ali had x3 better chin than louis , even in 1971 he had by far better footwork than louis,he was faster and still he was lucky to finish the fight. and louis himself said that the pressure fighters were bad for him,and he said too that even in his prime very hardly might beat marciano. and frazier was bigger, heavier, faster and possibly stronger than marciano.and frazier was more compact than louis, heavier, stronger for sure,he had more stamina, more heart, he had great bobbing and weaving, he was active to avoid the best punches from louis, but louis was too static to avoid frazier during all the fight.

With Holmes, it must be kept in mind that the left hook was not a particularly useful weapon against him, while Larry's right uppercut could be extremely dangerous on somebody coming in. In both fights with Shavers, Earnie tried bombing away to the body, yet Holmes dominated 21 of 22 completed rounds, and would have taken round seven of fight two without sustaining that one knockdown. Ocasio's low crouch and weaving unorthodoxy posed no particular issues in and of itself for a peak Holmes. Joe didn't like clutch and grab tactics much (and never used them himself in crisis situations), while Larry was proficient with clinching. When healthy and in peak form, Holmes rarely conceded rounds. Ali did take six rounds on two cards in the FOTC, and this was a GOAT who may have rushed into that prematurely to preempt an anticipated adverse SCOTUS ruling against his conscientious objector status to the draft.

For me, Frazier is a top five heavyweight, while Holmes is a top three. I wouldn't be putting money on this one. However, Joe would have to come from behind, not an easy task with Holmes. After ten rounds, I had Larry clinched as the winner over Norton, and Holmes landed 60 jabs in the second round of the Shavers rematch. Joe punched with venom, but superior work rate is not a given for him through the early rounds, and that could well be the deciding margin.

  3. holmes said that joe frazier was better body puncher than prime tyson, joe broke 2 ribs to holmes , a past prime frazier was his sparring partner and joe dominated holmes, i think that frazier would beat holmes by sd, larry would have his moments but joe was the best against boxers, he had much more stamina than prime norton, he was much more durable and holmes fought to life or death against PAST PRIME norton. the best frazier 70-71 would beat holmes by sd in my opinion.(holmes said in his opinion for fight night round 4 that frazier would beat tyson by late tko in 9 rounds). and is not matter who is higher in the top 10, because liston is not top 10 in my opinion, because his resume is very poor to be top 10 but in his prime he would beat several fighters in the top 10 like lewis, holyfield, holmes, marciano, dempsey and maybe louis and jonhson
i have marciano above foreman in the top, but george would kill rocky in a fight. prime tyson might well ko prime holmes.
