Joe always had a bit of chubb on him. Had he trimmed down, where would he be in the light heavy division?

He was actually in excellent shape in the mid-late 60's when he weighed around 200, and even for the first Ali fight when he weighed 205. Watch him against, say, George Chuvalo. He didn't really start developing the chub until post-Ali I.

    He was too big.
Okay, he was never ripped, but he was in fighting trim. At 203 or 205 pounds. If he'd really starved and reduced himself (on top of the incredible amount of training he did anyway, I dont see the benefit) he might've made 188 or 189 I guess. But 175, no way. He had legs like tree trunks and was naturally thick all over, he was 230+ when he was 16 !

I can't honestly see him getting down to 175 lbs.

    Cruiserweight wouldn't be a problem.

If a mature Joe Frazier was to make the light heavyweight limit he would have to fight with only one leg!

He could cut off his right arm and do just great. :good

This is a prime Frazier in the late 1960's (at 205):

I just don't see how he could have made 175.
