Joe Frazier enters the 1967 WBA Tournament, How does he do? Joe was no. 1 contender when Muhammad Ali was indicted for Draft Evasion in 1967, after stopping Zora Folley. Joe did not enter in protest of not being able to get a title shot against Muhammad Ali, but what would have happened if he had entered the tournament?

Here's what Joe would do to any of the guys he faced:
    Ellis-UD/ SD 12
    Martin-TKO 4
    Terrell-UD 12
    Spencer-KO 6
    Patterson-MD/ SD 12 or TKO 7
    Quarry-RTD 7
    Bonavena-SD 12
    Mildenberger-KO 4

Something along those lines. Ellis, Terrell, Patterson, Quarry, and Bonavena would all offer substantial resistance, but would all end up getting thoroughly beaten. Imo Bonavena and Ellis would fare the best against Frazier.

I know my friend, but I do know that James Ellis is one of them, that's cool. I like to mess with you. But I would like to know.

No man was more fluid and controlled w/ his body. He was absolutely beautiful to watch, and I mean that only from an artistic perspective.

I think Joe would win the tournament with Ellis being his most difficult opponent. Would love to see Frazier vs Martin. Two philly tough guys that were always fun to watch. Martin was a pretty dangerous guy.

No disrespect to Martin, but based just on the film, he's kind of a joke. He's not that good when u watch him.

I disagree. He was a pretty good boxer/ puncher that had decent power/speed and was fundamentally sound. He was plenty good and was never a walkover for anyone. I guarantee none of his opponents would have referred to him as a joke.
