Frazier did not beat the **** out of him. The fight was extremely close, Frazier won by at least 2-3 points perhaps. Which is why its one of the greatest fights of all time, because it was actually CLOSE But in response to this thread,i give much respect to Frazier
Just like Marquez-Pacquiao and Delahoya-Mosley Ill always consider Frazier and Ali equals h2h. The Thrilla in Manilla Frazier DID want to continue despite being almost blind and his trainer Futch stopped it while Ali collapsed. Had they gone one more round it might of been a different outcome. Ali like Pacquiao might of gone onto bigger things, but Frazier really is severely underrated around here.
Love these stories. Heavyweight championship had an amazing aura around it back then. Observing, analyzing the clash of personalities, views, skills and everything - I've spent hours on learning abut the rivalry of these two. Thanks for posting this.
