Style makes fight. I would have him winning over let say Wladimir Klitshcko and loosing to a Tyson. But it matters where the fight is tho, since If it's in germany Wladimir will clinch 20+ times per round.
Several great heavies could knock him out on his best night. But I guess that no heavyweights could outpoint him on his best night. You have to survive him and belt him out of there to beat him. I bet there isn't six men who could have done it.
Results may reflect a lot of his actual fights in his actual career: Jeffries might go the way of Chuvalo Tunney might go similar to Ali Liston might go like Foreman possibly Marciano might go more like Quarry 1 with a likely different outcome Louis might end it like he did Galento but may taste the canvas like he did in that fight too And with Dempsey anything could happen as normally did with Dempsey but I see a wild affair with Dempsey stopping Smoke - possibly on 3 knockdown rule like Bonavena was close to
joe doesnt beat foreman and liston ever, lennox lewis too would ko him. joe would beat every heavyweight king up to liston except joe louis. tyson and holmes would beat him too
Tough one to call so it's easier for me to list those I'd favour over him. Louis Tyson Liston Foreman Lewis Holyfield I'm undecided how I vote regarding him against tunney and Charles.
I think most top15 HWs beat him to be honest, I think the single Ali win overrates him generally. HE could beat smaller HWs or slow HWs but the bigger punchers and better technicians who can keep him off will beat him
I think its the technicians who will suffer tbh. With his relentless pace, head movement, lunging left hook and incredible stamina it is gonna be mega tough keeping him on the end of a jab. I think Lewis is multi dimensional enough to resort to brawling and flat out stop him but I can't see anyone out boxing him aside from maybe tunney and Charles who I haven't decided yet.
In terms of technicians, I'm referring to the ones who can punish his mistakes, then back him up and keep him backed up. A guy like Holyfield would pick Frazier apart with better his technique He could probably maul lesser punchers like Tunney or maybe Jack Johnson. Charles is probably too weak to keep him off. Marciano is a toss up but generally makes less mistakes than Frazier Guys like Lewis, Bowe, Wlad, Louis, Tyson should all flatten Frazier No way, Frazier would try to walk through Lewis's bombs and pay the price emphatically. Lewis is probably a better puncher than Foreman, bigger, faster and a better boxer
Hmmm, Foreman beat Frazier because he had a impressively powerful uppercut....LEwis uppercuts were very good but not on the same level..... I said he could though, not that he would, I wouldn´t be so confident....
Fair play then. Walcott is an interesting matchup. I think Bowe is a good shout, I forgot about him. Wlad wouldn't beat Frazier imo. That lunging left hook will throw Wlad off balance too easily and his body work will wear Wlad down. I agree with your other picks though.
Lewis's uppercut's 1 of his best punches alongside his right. Lewis's punches are quite different to Foreman's, he turns them over better giving them more snap and they're quicker outside, but Foreman's are shorter and more compact at close range. So I see you're point about him having better tools as Frazier comes into range, but I do think Lewis has the better uppercut and see him smashing Frazier You'd expect Walcott-Frazier to have similarities to the Marciano fight, Walcott could beat the brakes off Frazier early but Frazier would keep coming Wlad's power is Foreman level if not higher, just fighting someone that size who's such a skilled quick boxer when you're 5'11 is near insurmountable, believe me. Although Wlad does have some weakness to pressure, I think it'd take someone stronger and heavier than Frazier to pull it off An interesting fight is Vitali, who's ability gets underrated on the classic but overrated by his fans. I'd pick Vitali here, but Frazier does match up quite well against him. Vitali isn't a puncher and makes mistakes backing up, which left hook pressure fighter would benefit from, see Chisora and Lennox having success with left hooks and coming forward. Byrd won on pressure too
Wlad could bang Frazier out definitely but I don't think Frazier is too small. He can generate good power and reach when he throws that left hook with all his body weight behind it. would Frazier be too small? I dunno wlad has shown weaknesses to pressure. I suppose you could believe his excuses for the Brewster loss but I think it's down to having to fight hard and take big body shots. Both of which Joe does plenty of.
