He was a 190 pounds at his heaviest... Now him and Holy at 185 (no roids) could have been interesting....Other dudes were just too big....

No one on Tyson's resume was as good as Frazier. He fought in a weaker era. And yes, Frazier probably would have bested all of the fighters that Tyson beat, with the possible exception of old Larry Holmes. I know that's not going to sit well with you. But old Holmes actually wasn't so old when he fought Tyson. He was only 35. That's three years younger than Lennox Lewis was when he retired. I think old Holmes would have given Frazier a lot of problems.

Stylistically Frazier is at big disadvantage, he has a very agressive style and takes punches to give them, not the best approach when going against guys like Tyson and Marciano, who I am sorry to say probably had better chins than Frazier and were stronger punchers.

Frazier/Marciano would have been pretty competitive, Marciano's right hand is a clear match for Frazier's left hook. However Tyson would have just been way too much for Frazier. Tyson was just too strong, too powerful, too fast and too good for somebody that took as many shots as Frazier did.

Also gotta love Frazier's attitude....that's one of the main reasons he was so great....

That looks exactly like my mother-in-law. She even has that wicker basket swing in the sunroom.

Marciano vs Frazier is a toss up IMO.

I believe Tyson would beat Frazier. It usually took Joe a couple of rounds to get smoking and he doesn't have that time against a notoriously quick starter in Tyson.

And to those saying Tyson never beat anyone close to Fraziers level....I agree. But let's not pretend Frazier ever fought anyone quite like Tyson....

The Buster Douglas comparison is ludicrous: their attributes are totally different. Frazier is a swarmer, not a boxer puncher like Douglas.

I suspect Tyson would overwhelm Frazier in the opening rounds, getting off first by landing his jab and utilizing his superior handspeed.

I didn't say he was a *****. He was intimidating as **** to the Average Joe, but Mr Frazier isn't no Average Joe.

Using Foreman v Frazier as a comparison is ridiculous. Cus D'Amato once said no swarmer in history beats Foreman, and he was probably right.

He was physically stronger than Tyson, still had more one-punch knockout power even if Tyson obviously hit incredibly hard, and delivered his power from very low on Frazier.

Tyson here is facing a guy with similar if not greater physical strength, and a guy who can fight better at long range given he had an incredible long-left hook.

He's also fighting a guy who want back down, who will press him on the back foot and give him 3 minutes worth of punching for 12 rounds.

I like Joe Frazier, he's a 200lbs sherman tank.. Tyson is a 220lbs sherman tank with more explosive hands.

Tyson would be a definite favorite with the odds makers, but never count out Joe Frazier.

Frazier was not physically stronger than Tyson. Tyson was bigger by just about area. Not to mention the fact that he was 20 pounds heavier than Joe.

It's a common myth that Frazier was a slow starter, and I don't know where people really get this from. Just because he got stronger as the fight went on; as his opponent tired yet he didn't, didn't mean that he was a 'slow starter'.

And in terms of Tyson landing his jab on Frazier, he will find it difficult when Ali couldn't even land his jab that cleanly that often on Frazier, and considering Tyson didn't have reach on Frazier and Smokin' Joe had a great long-range left hook.

So Tyson was a better version of Frazier? Just because they are both swarmer's doesn't make them identical version to each other. How do you come to the conclusion Tyson was 'superior' based upon who he fought and beat & who Frazier fought and beat?

IMO, i do happen to think Tyson would have beaten Frazier.... Bigger, faster, has a good chin, his power isnt to mess with eather, and frazier would be walking right into him,

it would have been a clash of the titans for sure, but it would be up to Fraziers work, heart, stamina and will, to try and overcome tyson down the stretch, i personally think a prime tyson would be a bit too much, personally.
