I know what you said, I haven't isolated from anything, and for the fourth time, here is what I said - It's negative. It's about Ali. I'm not surprised. All of those things are very clearly true as far as I can see and the only reason we're talking about it three pages later is your need to "clarify" the "substance" of your post which should take 12 seconds and one post but of course, doesn't.
Well, you chose to bring your irrelevant thoughts to the discussion when you disclosed non-surprise about something I wrote. And you chose to bring your irrelevant semantic technicality when you deemed my statement "negative".
Not quite sure what you two are arguing about, but Unforgiven, if this clears anything up a little...i didnt mean to suggest that Ali's character and mentality are superior to Frazier's and make him look simple. Infact i'd probably say Frazier is unshakeable and has an edge here. What i meant to say is that Ali's charisma alone could make alot of men go sit in the corner with their tail between their legs. And that socially and verbally Ali was a titan, this can be overwhelming. Monsters can be defeated before they even set foot in the ring(Sonny Liston). And what i'm saying, what Frazier was saying, 'all he can do is walk straight' he's not winning a popularity contest, he's not out-talking Ali or bedazzling the public with words. He's not manipulating anything or playing mind games. He's walking straight in there and putting all his heart and energy into the only thing he can do which is to be a relentless pitbull against the bigger dog with the sharper teeth and the scary bark. And thats why he's a man and a ****ing legend. I could kiss Ali's ass all day too he's a great man, i'm just concentrating on Frazier here becuase he needs more love. Big bangers in hypotheticals are taking him out and theres a statue of ****ing Rocky Balboa in his home town. Which shouldnt be the case when you're the arch nemesis and nothing less than equal to the greatest of all time. And also whoever mentioned the subject of Frazier falling back on the legacy of Ali all the time, well i'm sorry but Frazier MADE Ali's legacy. They made each others. Brought pinnacle displays of heart and willpower out of each other and the sport's history in the 3rd fight. In the 1st fight the pinnacle of talent in the HW division's history. The legend that is Muhammed Ali, the greatest and most respected thing about him is his character. ALOT of that respectable character comes from his fights with Frazier.
joe frazier was 1 man, with "2" balls . I love , how he gave "clay", his hardest 2 fights , yet that **** wont accept , "defeat" Anyone with eyes, can c, in 1 first fight, Frazier was well ahead on pnts, up to 15th . with 1 knockdown , he did seal 1 deal . Frazier 1 great fighter.
Things change, breh. I was looking up at my erect ***** after i made this thread. Wondering, why am i aroused so?:think I'm not gay. I appreciate both fighters the same. What is it about this scenario that makes me tick? Then i started thinking, what else in boxing riles fans up so? Who do others have erections for? Then it dawned on me....Roberto ****ing Duran. I didnt blow a load but i blew my ****ing mind. Like the flashback montage in Sixth Sense and Usual Suspects, i saw the connection. Loud mouth cocky persona...Leonard, Ali. Ridiculously attractive...Ali, Leonard. Media darling...Ali, Leonard. America hero...Ali, Leonard. Awe inspiring beast slaying...vs Liston, Foreman.. vs Hearns, Hagler. Fight of their careers...Era defining fights. New York, Montreal...the underdogs, no fear...no dancing, trench warfare...1st defeat, 1st defeat, crowd in awe................. .......Leonard is, Ali? Joe Frazier is........No ****ing way. God no. No ****ing way. **** no. All this time. Joe Frazier is Roberto Duran. So no more of that bull**** from me, bro. Its my colon that needs the release, i've been shitting out my mouth for so long...
I don't think Ali was too much brighter than Joe, but he seemed more curious about the world around him. Still, I'd take Joe's personality and fighting stye anyday.
Who said this one, Frazier or Ali? Probably my favorite boxing quote, I used to have it as my signature for the longest time.
Yeah, in some people minds this seems to be the case, and even though I see how they're thinking, I just can't except it. First off, Frazier would never ever insult someone's wife. It's an inconceivable thought that he would have told Belinda that he would **** her as soon as he had ****ed up her man. But even more inconceivable is Frazier quitting like that. Would just never happen. Ever.
Yeah, I agree. No question, Ali was superior as a overwhelming character. Not just to Frazier, but to just about everyone ever. You don't put a prime Ali in the room with anyone and not expect Ali to get all the attention. Love him or loathe him, when he's on form you are captivated by his presence. Frazier's quote and the way he carried himself are admirable, especially in light of the fact that he was perhaps the only fighter Ali went way 'too far' with in his pre-fight insults. Alas, I think Frazier's focus then doesn't extend to how he's seen things overall in the years that have passed. It turns out Frazier has been deeply hurt by not winning a "popularity contest".
