    Does somebody's death justify delusion?

I agree that frazier had more heart and stamina than tyson but he would be too physically overmatched for this to become a factor. Too hands are better than one and the speed and power with which tyson's blows would be delivered would make short work of frazier.

I dont know, this isnt straight forward either way. Ive come across a few threads saying Tyson had no heart which simply isnt true, he just hadnt it as much as Frazier. Having said that, i can see Frazier prevailing in the mid-late rounds after an opening 4 round war. Both can only fight 1 way and whilst i can see Tyson having early success, it wont be a one-way teeing-off session like many of his fights- he'll be gettin hit back plus some. As it goes on Frazier settles in more, unlike Tyson who doesnt seem to get stronger the longer a fight goes. This is what tips it for me.

    Hell of a fight though

    Yes.

When somebody as great as Joe Frazier dies, everybody looks just a little bit more closely at his strengths. Arguments that people have overlooked get a little more insistent; the glow of fantasy opponents like Ali or Tyson dims just a bit in Frazier's own aura.

"Fantasy fight" threads have always been mythmaking sessions as much as objective fight predictions; it's part of the genre. Whether the analysis in this thread is "objective" boxing analysis doesn't really matter. It's the ritual that's important. We're not producing our Frazier vs. Tyson analysis to win money on some future hypothetical fight. We're honoring the glorious dead.

Frazier beats Tyson. For the next few days, at least.

    Compared to Joe Fraizers...

If you ever watch Tyson yes he looks fantastic for about 5 rounds, then the elusiveness slowly starts to slip, his head movement becomes less effective and his workrate decreases also.

Joe Fraziers could work almost all night at the highest intensity he had unreal stamina.

That fight ended after 10 rounds, we assume this one is going 15...

If you think Frazier only had a left hook you really need to watch some Frazier fights.

Tyson only KO'd one man past the 8th rd. and never got off the floor to win, he may get to Frazier early but it would not be in Joe's make-up to lay down like many of Tyson's opponents Joe would be more of the you have to kill me and I'm gonna test you first like Evander. Tyson had trouble with those type of tests

Who cares if he never got off the floor to win. Joe Frazier is nothing like Evander outside of his heart. Evander had a great chin, frazier didn't. I think Tysons speed an power would have him out very early.

    You are right.

Frazier is nothing like Holyfield because Evander is a beefed up Cruiserweight. Not a real heavyweight.

Tyson has to bomb Frazier out early like Foreman did, but it has to be against the overweight, disinterested Frazier that showed up to defend his title 73.

The only way Tyson beats a 69-FOTC Frazier is by outworking him, and that's not happening. Only Marciano is capable of outworking the prime version of Frazier and it's still not likely because he didn't fight at the furious pace Frazier did.

Prime for prime, I'd pick Frazier to get up off the canvas a couple of times early and take Tyson out in the middle to late rounds.
