The food back then was better quality in general. It was not full of estrogens and chemicals like today. Marciano and Frazier would not acquire bigger frames and bone densities by drinking whey protein and doing more resistance training, which is basically the extent of these magical advancement alluded to.

Protocols like that work fine for developing bigger football players but would be counterproductive for boxers. Sure Marciano could fight at 225 if he spent years doing squats and cleans but the added muscle would hurt his cardio. The last thing Frazier would have needed was 20 lbs of muscle in his wars with Ali.

Neither Frazier or Marciano cut any weight and would probably been super middle's or at the most lightheavies today. Unless of course they wanted to give today's heavyweights a shot by pounding down the protein and hitting the big iron like a football player.

The original discussion highlights the notion that Frazier was not an ATG, making George Foreman's record against ATGs 0-2.

    God you're dumb. :patsch

His win over Ali is among the 20 best in the history of the sport. That counts for something...

His run as HW champ w/o that single win is much better than both Klitschko's and a whole lot of other top HW's.

I am pretty sure Marciano, if he was around today, would benefit from the changes in workouts, supplements, dieting, etc. He would be heavier than his typical weight in the 50's. 99% sure.

I've never heard someone say Frazier isn't an ATG heavy until I came to ESB. What a ****ing shock. The same place that puts Wlad and Vitali as the best heavyweights of all-time.

    ****ing pathetic.

Only a few spackers rate the brothers as the best, coincidentally the same spackers that denigrate past HW greats and their achievements.

You haven't seemed to think this thru.

Look at it this way, utilizing your logic, how many all time greats did Ali beat? According to you Frazier would not count. Liston? If Frazier doesn't ranks as an all time great neither would Liston. Norton? No. Patterson? No. Folley? No. Bonavena? No. Young? No. Cooper? No. Terrell? No.
You already eliminated Quarry and Bonavena.

So utilizing your logic the only great fighter Ali beat would be Foreman.

Now using the same scenario, try Louis, Marciano, Dempsey, Tunney, Johnson, Tunney.

See? No one seems to add up.

    Now go away.
