Joe Frazier - Underrated or Overrated ?

That's certainly a great top 10 case. Very consistent and only beaten by two ATG's, ever. That's a good selling point.

 

Joe’s top 2 are actually Louis and Marciano, and we know he rates himself over Ali for obvious reasons so he’s a top 3 at best.

 

Well ??? why not have Frazier? ... you have Wlad as your 5/6 and you are shocked that he has Frazier?? Wlad ?? what a joke ,, he didnt fight his brother. Frazier's resume shits on his ... does Wlad have an Ali ?? the Klitckos didnt fight each other and for that .. will never be in any sort of a top 10 list other than ducking the best the longest ,, they are both in the top 5 in that category!! You just have Wlad in the wrong top 5 list .. and you have him 5 all time?? ,, for ducking the best for 15 years !!! LOL ... I agree with your frazier ranking ... but I'm responding to you as you are to him .... Frazier steam rolled thru the best Wlad didnt .. end of story

unless you have brewster, peter, and Rahman in your top 10 - 15 top HW's also ??

 

The advent of Lewis,Holyfield , and Tyson displaced him from my top ten.
I also think he would have his hands full with Bowe,but,as McGrain has pointed out ,he does have possibly the single greatest win of any heavyweight.

 

I'm not going to use either of the words requested, but will repeat something I said in one of my initial posts here. I still have Joe at the tail end of my ATG top 10 and have enormous respect for him. At the same time, IMO he's placed on somewhat too high a pedestal by folks here who I think would literally pick him mano y mano to left hook Godzilla into submission if such a poll was set up, because they gravitate to his style and his heart and the fact that he was a true warrior, and because he was abused so badly outside the ring by Muhammad Ali.

 

He is rated where he should be
