Foster never beat a rated heavy. This fight was a foregone conclusion.
Foster was stopped by non puncher Terrell ,Frazier knew he would stop Foster and that it would be early.
Fosters style was that of a stalker he was not effective going backwards, Frazier matched him in hand speed ,beat him in footspeed ,and was simply too powerful and heavy hitting for the stick like Foster,a Light Heavy great ,but a very moderate Heavy.Frazier should look good against such an opponent

I love Frazier, I really do, but I can't see him winning more than he loses against Lewis or either Klitschko. I think he does much better against Lewis and Wladimir than he does against Vitali, mostly because those two men are more cautious and a tad easier to intimidate, and Joe Frazier is a frightening man.

At the end of the day, though, it does come down to size. Joe Frazier is skilled, superbly conditioned, and has good power, yet he is not a one-punch knockout artist, will have severe trouble landing up-top against any of the three when they fight tall, and, while utilizing the best head movement this side of Jack Dempsey, is still there to be hit due to his perpetual forward motion.

He's going to eat some to get into range, and weighted punches by men as big as these three dent faces.

There is a reasonable chance that he hooks Wlad in the belly until he squeels like a little girl.

I can't favor Frazier, though I want to. He's undeniably greater than all three, and if size was not an issue, they would be drawing dead in a no contest.

when it comes to the klitschko's i agree with you. but i don't think frazier will beat lewis. i even think lewis will ko/tko frazier somewhere around the 8th or 9th round

It's fashionable to dump on and malign Joe Frazier these days. "No chin", "too short", "he'd be owned by _____", and all that ****...this is one fight, among many, that Joe Frazier looked fantastic...a monster, and an example of being "boss" in the ring, and ending it all with a classically devastating example of not only killer instinct, but a brutal, thunderbolt of a left hook, on an opponent who was at his best.

Lets give Foster some props for signing to fight the guy in his prime. Not like today when everyone cherrypicks. Foster signed to fight a guy in his prime. And just how many guys come back from that brutal of a ko anyway?

Foster continued to defend that lh title for years & even managed another heavyweight foray against another elite fighter===Ali. In a non-title bout no less. You just don't see guys taking these kinds of fights--while remaining champ--in recent times. And then having the capability to bounce back from brutal ko's.

Foster was an old school, hard scrapple sort of guy, who never cherrypicked, and took the fights, without being afradi.

Yeah, no doubt. I was a bit tipsy last night, but I at least meant what I said at heart.

V.K. is just too badass and wicked for Frazier or Tyson................ Lennox Lewis is INDEED a bad mo-fo as well......... Frazier & Tyson would get bounced like a basketball in a time machine against dudes like " Vit Klit & Lewis."

You've gone off the rocker. Vitali is not beating a prime Tyson nor Frazier. Lewis would be a tougher and closer fight, but I'd favor a prime Tyson and would give Frazier a good chance.

A bit of irony that he might have looked that good because his opponent was comparatively small.

This version of Frazier, I'd say yes. 1967 - 1970 would be a nightmare for any heavyweight. The only version of Frazier I see Lewis, Vitali or Wlad beating is the overconfident, overweight, lazy version of Frazier that showed up to defend the title against Foreman in 1973. Even though George destroyed Frazier twice inside 8 rounds total, Foreman wouldn't have had a relatively easy fight with this version of Frazier. Not saying Joe wins, but I'd give him a legit chance to make it to the middle rounds against Foreman, and those are the rounds that Frazier dominates.

I disagree with you Mr. Bill. However, I do understand you argument about the size, reach, and weight advantage Lewis and the Klitschko's possess over Frazier and Tyson.

None of those three faced fighters with the head movement and body attack of Frazier and Tyson. Frazier is a little more concerted to the body than Tyson whereas Tyson throws harder right hand shots more frequently. Lewis beat a Tyson that probably shouldn't have been in the ring, and I'm a firm believer that if Tyson wasn't exiled, he would have fought and beat Lewis during that time. Frazier is much harder to hit cleanly than Tyson, and the only way Lewis and the Klitschkos stop a prime Frazier is to knock him out with the first three rounds, which nobody has done. I'd bet on 1967 - FOTC Frazier to stop all three, Lewis, Vitali and Wlad inside 12 rounds.

Looked good in that one Frazier, he reminds me a little of Chavez when both were on form, Foster, for such a great LHWT was abysmal as a HWT tho.
Frazier v Marciano is my dream HWT fight right alongside Foreman v Liston.

I don't know, guys.......... I've seen it or reviewed all of these dudes who fought over the last 40 yrs and I own an insane fight tape collection of thrills and spills as well........

"Frazier & Tyson" were great at what they did, but only Joe Frazier really fought TWO GREAT opponents in the making of Ali and Foreman....... And, Frazier lost to them dudes too.......

Mike Tyson's first reign from '86 to '90 was a great reign, and his victims were damn good; but none of his victims of the late 80s were ever gonna beat Lewis or V.K. in a time machine......... NOPE!!

So, again, BOTH Lewis and Klit EAT dudes like "Frazier & Tyson" alive in a time machine...... No doubt on this end........

Frazier was a dynamo. I think this is an underrated win.
