Wilder wins this. Frazier was too small, too weak and one-dimensional to compete with modern day SHWs, even less skilled ones like Wilder.

Wilder is no "super heavy" coming in just at 220 pounds is more in the range of classic heavy weight.

    Frazier stomps.

He was not small; he weighed only 5lbs less than Mike Tyson and was tougher.

Frazier > overrated Tyson > Wilder.

Wilder is okay, but he's fought nobody worth of note, Stiverne was it and he's only beaten Chris Arreola who is forgettable. He's painfully light for someone of 6''7 (225lbs) which is only 10lbs heavier than Frazier.

He has a decent chin, no combination tecnique and garbage footwork. Nothing compared to Frazier.

You might as well say Wilder beats Tyson, who fought even worse competition than Frazier.

The same guys who called Wilder a bum are now hailing him as a guy who can beat ATG's...some people just shouldn't do life.

No point of bringing Iron Mike in the discussion as he has nothing to do with it.
Do you really think there is only a 5 pound difference in lean body mass between Frazier and Tyson?
What was Frazier's body composition at 215? He was fat with a hanging gut.

People let nostalgia get in the way of their thinking, just because a fighter is greater it doesn't mean they are the best head to head. People act like guys like Joe Frazier and Jack Dempsey would be undefeated if they fought in the 2000's and in my opinion it is just ridiculous to think that.
Let's not forget that non punchers like Joe Bugner, Manuel Ramos and Ron Stander were able to stagger Frazier too so Deontay Wilder could easily knock down or even knock out Frazier. The two hardest hitters who Joe Frazier ever fought (really the only punchers he ever fought) were George Foreman and Oscar Bonavena and both knocked him down twice or more and Deontay hit harder than Oscar Bonavena. Styles make fights. To me he showed that a puncher was his kryptonite and he took a lot of punches.

    So much facepalm... :patsch

    1. Frazier's natural bodyweight was at 215. Look at his fights with Ali, his endurance is absolutely incredible; Tyson's endurance/stamina is much worse and he gasses out after 5 rounds, he's built for explosiveness whereas Frazier is a warrior that can go 15 rounds and still pound away.

    2. Jack Dempsey would lose because he was a fraud but Frazier wouldn't --- he's not that old of a fighter, George Foreman fought in that era and when he returned in the 1990's, he was knocking out the newer fighters pretty easily.

Nothing to suggest that the new, fat American fighters who throw 1-2's and gass out after 4-5 rounds stand a chance against a decent Heavyweight from the 1970s.

    3. They only staggered him, none of them put him down. Only Foreman put Frazier down and Evander Holyfield himself that Foreman hit harder than both Tyson and Lewis (Lewis - the modern day SuperHeayweight strong enough to cut up and beat Vitali Klitschko).

Deontay got knocked down in his early pro career by a fat dude with no skill.....

Let's stop the nonsense and stop comparing him to ATG's because he beat a fat Stiverne.
