Styles make fights - Holyfeild wins in a WAR.

He would counter lots of left hooks, out-muscle Frazier onto teh backfoot And land lots of combos to swell up his eyes. :!::!:

I see the Frazier apologists have been reduced to using the Cooper fight as an example as to why Holyfield would lose to Frazier.:-(

I wonder how many people have actually seen this fight.Tyson fans are also fond of using this fight as an example as to why Tyson at his peak would have beaten Evander Holyfield. And what do they base this claim on? That's right,Cooper hurting knocking Holyfield down.Ignoring the fact that Holyfield put on an offensive clinic against Cooper - his repeated use of the uppercut highlighting this brilliant performance - and ignoring the fact that Holyfield got up and came back very strong in that round. The only thing hurting Holyfield ever did was seriously **** him off and force him to come back even stronger.

The reason this fight was as exciting as it was,was because Holyfield was at his offensive best, and that Cooper was durable and fought a determined fight.Holyfield still completely dominated the fight, won every round and gave Cooper a real pasting.

Quite amusing to see these Frazier apologists use examples where Holyfield was hurt in his career. These people are arguing in favour of a man who was stopped and knocked down six times in two rounds by the only puncher he ever fought in his life.In over twenty-six years as a professional,Holyfield has been dropped around the same amount of times - in a career that included fights with Bowe(3x),Tyson(2x),Lewis(2x),Stewart(2x),Mercer and Foreman. And three of those knockdowns were through sheer exhaustion/accumulated punishment.

This is a great fight ! You could make the case that these two guys could fight three times, and it goes 1-1-1... Holy brings high volume of punches, tenacity and great conditioning to the table, but NOT true one punch power. And that and his warrior mentality is what would lead to problems against `Smokin` Joe. Riddick Bowe tore up Holy on the inside, even though he was taller, it was inside that Holy lost ground against Bowe. And lo and behold guess who trained both Bowe and Frazier ? The legendary Eddie Futch. Now you could make a case that maybe, holy could outbox Frazier. But, Holy`s warrior mentality would force him to war. I think Frazier would HURT Evander to the body and slowly grind him down, and punish him late in the fight.`71` Frazier 15 UD or maybe late stoppage. I don`t think Qawi is an accurate comparison because Qawi was very small, didn`t have half of Frazier`s firepower or intensity. This fight would be an all time great...

And if Holy think he loves getting intoa war, wait unti he watched Frazier salivate at the sight of someone wanting to lay in the trenches with him. Nobody loved going to war than Joe Frazier, unless we start talking about Roberto Duran, but thats a whole other thread :)
